If you have some time, it appears the selection process included the submissions of first graders. Actually some are not too bad. Here is the link to the submitted drawings.

Pure genius - publish all 2500 in spite of some being completely useless.

Yay MS.

I think he updated his link to avoid that.

When I clicked the link it asked for an email address.

I did a google search and this news site came up

https://www.wtva.com/content/n...-flag-571994261.html

It will allow you to click on the link and view the flag submissions without having to enter and email address.

Requirement is to have “In God We Trust” on it too.

Suggestion: put the State Seal on a blue field like most of the other States have and be done with the problem.

The ones with Kermit the frog and the red banner with the Muslim star and crescent were catchy.

I like the "Hospitality Flag", but I don't think it would qualify as it doesn't have any words on it.

Does anyone think Libs are snapping right now w/ the requirement of having “In God we trust” on the new flag?

I can see them just jumping up and down in joy because they got rid of the Confederate flag portion then the requirement about God is thrown in there. I can see crying, grinding of gears, and heads exploding.

Our former Governor, Phil Bryant somehow made that a requirement.

I’m sitting here in disbelief that they currently do not have a state flag, and the reasons it was removed.

Each time I see bits of history being erased, hidden, or otherwise made invisible, it reminds me of this statement: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”.

A White flag would seem appropriate.

Seems like a copy of the current one would do just fine.

I like the one with the 9 stars in the canton, shaped like a cross. It is just a variation of the 2nd official CSA flag, the stars and bars, with 9 stars representing the member states at that time:

If this one could slip by, MS would still have a Confederate style flag. Smile

Apparently the "Hospitality Flag" was previously known as the "Stennis Flag" since it was created by the grand daughter of John Stennis. She now wants to distance her name from the flag due to his past. Guess it's ok to have an aircraft carrier named after him.

Yeah not just the carrier. They renamed the NASA space center after him. We also have Forrest County named after Nathan Bedford Forrest.
