And they have TONS OF IT. Literally.

And yes, he is a commie agent with lots of intent to do major damage to the US.

I have yet to figure out how putting a dress on some guy makes him infallible.

Not to mention the refusal to acknowledge sexual abuse within the church. Before anyone jumps me about that, I fully realize that it happens in other denominations as well.

What's that verse from the Bible...

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

The church has a lot of cleaning up to do before they can start telling other people how to live...

The papacy has a long tradition of corruption, so Francis is in good company. Between hoarding treasure and sodomizing boys, the Church has a lot to answer for, if not in this world, in the next. If this commie had a shred of decency, he would at least not get up on that high horse.

We recently had a debate regarding whether Islam was a real religion or something else all together. Its seems this pope and his direction for the Catholic church is leading it into that "something else" category as well. When any religion oversteps its bounds and attempts to directly intercede with governments to influence outcomes, or in the case of Islam to supplant said government, that religion loses its standing as a religion.

Whether this pope is a communist may be debatable. What is not debatable is that he's an enemy of this country and freedom in general.

Yes. Islam is a political system disguised as a religion. You're right, Frankie would like to make the Catholic church much the same. But as much as they argue for equality for all... we all know that some would be more equal than others under their one-world, one-government socialist vision. It would be like the middle ages. The Church was in bed (sometimes literally) with the monarchy. Everyone else is just a serf.

Yes, of course. We have had good popes and bad popes. The Church has outlasted both kinds.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

As a practicing Catholic, I give you special permission to call him a Communist. Big Grin

He’s my least favorite Pope of my lifetime. IMO he doesn’t hold a candle to JP2 or Benedict.

John Paul II was deeply anti-communist. I am old enough to remember when Ronald Regan was President, John Paul II was Pope and Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister. The world made much more sense.

It doesnt get any more ironic than this. The Catholic Church has immense wealth and walls around the Vatican. I say, you go first Frankey - for the fifth time.

I was born/raised Methodist and became Catholic when I married my wife. I lean more Methodist I guess these days. I’ve never been particularly good at either though.

Happy wife, happy life. Wink
My brother-in-law did the opposite.
As far as I'm concerned it doesn't really matter that much, and I'm Catholic. I believe in God, and I believe in Christ. But the denominations and distinctions between different forms of Christianity are pretty much all created by men and not by Christ.

Y’all might be interested in this article:

Papal theologian questions Benedict XVI’s resignation

The theologian in question believes Francis is a heretic, but rather than deal with that he’s going after the issue of whether B XVI legally resigned.

Just so you know there are high-ups in the Catholic Church who think if Frankie B as we do.
