Pipe SmokerPardon me, but Pope Francis sounds like a Communist
“VATICAN CITY (AP) — Championing the cause of the poor, Pope Francis on Sunday lamented that “the wealthy few” enjoy what,
“in justice, belongs to all” and said Christians cannot remain indifferent to the growing cries of the exploited and the indigent, including migrants…”

He (and many bishops of his age) would prefer to call himself a "progressive"

... but, yeah, he's a communist.
It's a world-wide disease of our times.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Jim ShugartThere's a big fundamental difference between charity (giving) and government redistribution (stealing).

mark123This guy is saying that the wealth of the rich belongs to the everyone. The Tenth Commandment says the exact opposite. Wealth belongs to who earns it and no one else. This man is a false prophet.

220-9erWhile he lives an all expenses paid life of luxury hoarding the church's wealth talking down to all the little people.
Maybe he should check out Venezuela to see how all that sharing is working out under their favorite political system. Or read a little history starting in 1917.
The great masses end up being mostly equal, equally miserable.

darthfusterIn a sense he's right. Spiritually speaking, this world was given to all mankind and everything in it. Where he makes his mistake is in ignoring free will. He does not understand that God gave us free will before he gave us this Earth communism seizes free will to execute it's goals. In that sense this Pope is a communist.

Corruption and extreme poverty. The former breeding the latter.

Yes, exactly.
Charity is a free will offering and is good.
Redistributing what someone else has worked for and earned is theft.
As long as we have free will, some will achieve more than others. You can't have equality of outcomes without taking away freedom. And... even if you do, you still won't have equality because those doing the taking will take for themselves first and will therefore be more equal than others.
The best that you can hope for is equality before the law, an equal playing field.
Also, redistribution isn't just for poor people. As long as we subsidize Amazon and anyone who wants to build an NFL stadium we won't have equality before the law.

satchAs a lifetime Catholic let me tell you the leadership of the Church for the past 100 years would embrace Socialism, and would want the most money to go to them first, then what's left to the little people. Am I disappointed with them present leadership? Yes!
