Not easy, not difficult.
My first weigh in on the 16th was torture,
I didn't think I lost a pound.

Came close to bawling when they told me 10 lb. Weight loss.

Doctor told me he really really needed this great news.
He told nine
People to lose weight

And I am one of three making significant progress.

Have decided to think of it as my new hobby.
I don't fish, bowl, drink booze plane spot, golf or high jump so o o

Now I search for low cal. Meal ideas, calculate the numbers,
Shop for low cal. Foods, plan meal options.
Document like crazy.

I think I have about 10% more energy and am sleeping a bit better.

No pasta, ice creme or pop, pastries, and only one Snicker's.

1800 cal. Per day

Excellent work and keep it up! Set small goals, and you will achieve them.

I started the same journey about a year ago and am down about 40lbs. Diagnosed as pre-diabetic, and was able to take my blood sugar numbers from 102 to 74. Yes, it was great to see the weight come off, but that was even more refreshing.

My focus was simple, but difficult at first. Strict calorie deficit... Then I started to focus on fats, carbs, and other macros once I added in some strength training.

I have been trying to do better since March. So far, I haven't really changed diet, but I have reduced intake. Some slight increases in activity. To date, I think I am down around 8#. The mantra I keep trying to remember is that the weight showed up over years. It is probably going to take similar for it to leave. Sure, it can be accelerated, but to what end? I think small gradual adjustments will be better for me in the long run.

Great job on your accomplishments! Keep up the good work.

Good for you, bendable! Great job, keep it up, errr, or, down I guess!! I'm down 12# recently since starting keto and intermittent fasting, based on Dr. Jason Fung's book, 'The Obesity Code', which I heard about on this great forum! Congrats!

I've found out quickly that I don't put three or four different foods on my plate at one time.

I put one food with X calories in a bowl , eat it and then 15 minutes later I will eat something else and if I am still hungry I will prepare a third thing.
Adding up too 600 calories per meal.

Do you mind saying current height/weight?

I lost 150 lbs over the last year, diet/exercise. In the best shape of my life since I got out of the Marines. Riding my bike, did 37.5 miles today of a planned 40 but ended up with a flat.

Doing another 30 tomorrow.

Carbs are the work of the devil. Lots of good info out there on strategies to help. I found once I kept net carbs under 50 a day or so a lot of the hunger feelings go away.

Carbs process to sugar blood sugar goes up insulin dump, BS goes down, body says “I’m hungry, feed me”. Reduce the insulin roller coaster and the body starts using fat stores instead of crying for easy fuel.

What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

Yep carbs are evil. My wife started eliminating carbs back last Nov. I followed suit in Jan of this year. She’s lost 50 and I’ve lost 40. You can’t eliminate all of them, but like 91Boss said, keep them trimmed way down 50 or less will do wonders.

Keep it up!

Yup, carb control is the secret of life.
KETO may be faddy now but is spectacularly effective and healthy.
Not without it's caveats though.

"In your spare time you can create the Sigforum diet"

What works for 15 people won't work for 50 others.

That's why there are 90 diet books on the shelves.

Way too many considerations to satisfy .
I
Might consider sharing my personal paradigm if and when I lose half of my goal,
This time next year.
