Did the Lieutenant mean caliber converter? Why aren't these things more popular?

Knew right away from the title that it's from this Columbo episode. Man, I love this show, especially the early years' episodes. Robert Culp, Jack Cassidy and Patrick McGoohan are my favorite villains of the series. Q

Columbo was on our no miss list. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Just one more thing. I liked his fashion sense. I wonder where he got his raincoat from. I've been meaning to get one myself. It was a great show, a great character. I still occassionally watch an old episode. I remember its initial run. Colombo would air on Sunday evening, rotating each week with McCloud and McMillan & Wife, also good cop dramas.

Don't know, but I loved the episode where Colombo's wife gave him a stiff new raincoat, which he promptly began "misplacing".
