That's what I love about Virginia. In much of it, PBR IS legal tender.

As for the OP, I concur on Harbor Freight. Their hand tools are getting better and better. The stores are popping up everywhere. And the lifetime, no receipt, no questions asked exchange policy is easy to use. Look for their tools that are made in Taiwan. Taiwan produces tools as good as anyone.

Right now Ace Hardware has the small Craftsman ratchet sets on sale for $9.99 till December 2nd. It includes a ratchet, short extension and sockets and comes in both 1/4" drive and 3/8" drive and metric or standard and they come in nice plastic cases.

20V is great, but just not needed in most small engine/motorcycle shops when working with lots of 4-6mm fasteners and going into aluminum. Also by the end of the day the weight difference between 12V and 20V adds up.

Milwaukee makes an M12 1/2 drive impact but it's expensive, about 1/3 of your budget.
You can get an air impact for much less, but they're not nearly as handy.

Just saw a nice full set, think its the 309 pc set at Lowe's.

Included the full set of ratcheting wrenches.

Took pictures, but don't know where they went. New phone and it's like I didn't even take them!
