Four Roses U.S. Owned Again

With beer continuing to lose market share and wine remaining flat, spirits have gained in the U.S.

E&J Gallo owns an interesting mix of wine, beer, and spirit labels. They are shuttering some of their California wineries this year due to market conditions.

I'm kicking myself. For a couple of years, I was making regular trips from NW Indiana to Hilton Head, South Carolina and drove right through whiskey country in KY. I never took the time to take various tours through the distilleries.

Our oldest daughter took us on a Napa, Healdsburg, and Russian River Valley winery tour a few years ago.

Will need to get her thinking about a Bourbon Trail tour.

She works for E&J Gallo as the manager of their trace analytical services laboratory.

almost 40 years ago .I had a job delivering stuff ,to the 4 Roses distillery in Anderson county Kentucky . Still remember what the distillery looked like .kinda like a Spanish Mission to me.Still remember the smell from the mash , it was pretty strong .It always reminded me of my granpa who died in 1979 . him and his brother made moonshine in West Virginia from the 1930's-60's
