I want one of these. Guess my next purchase will be something in this product line so that it is easier to convince Ms. Sigarmsp226 that I need one since I already have the batteries and chargers Thanks Black92LX for postingThis message has been edited. Last edited by: sigarmsp226,

$1300.00 seems very reasonable for this. No batteries or charger included for that price. https://www.acmetools.com/ego-...TEAQYASABEgKvXfD_BwE

I have the string trimmer, blower, and chainsaw. Still rocking the gas Honda for the mower. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

I got the string trimmer two years ago with a gift card I won in a raffle. Have had two batteries that just up and shit the bed in that time. From reading around the web seems to be more than just an isolated problem. Yeah sign me up for an electric car. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

How were they in dealing with the warranty for you? Have not had any of my EGO stuff crap out yet. I had a Ryobi 18v drill crap out like 13 or 14 years ago and it was painful. Had to take it to a local repair place and they took forever. Like multiple months but that was on them not Ryobi. Had a battery die a few years ago and had that back in a week or so. Lost a high pressure inflator a few months back and said 14 days max to have mine back. After a month I called and they said the automated system screwed up somehow. A few days later I had a much better model than I had originally purchased as the replacement. Ryobi has some work to do on their system but at least I was eventually made while. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. Add another $600-$700 for batteries and chargers, and you are close to $2,000 just to go 20 miles. I would rather have a small gas burner for near that price that will go much further on a tank of gas, refuel MUCH quicker, and last years longer.

Unless you are already invested decently in the EGO ecosystem. No need for extra batteries and chargers.
Can you point me in the direction of an ELECTRIC mini bike not made in China? ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

Lots of bikes are not made in China. Gas or electric -- I don't care. China -- I'm not buying. I fly a flag with a blue background and white stars, not a yellow background with red stars.

Actually they did well. Replaced both batteries quickly. Just make certain you have all your products and batteries registered with them online. They won't do a thing until that is done. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

I agree with you but I have yet to meet the man who can have China made products not anywhere in his house. The China man is in everything. If you can source everything you need for daily living entirely sourced and manufactured in the USA I'd like to know your sources. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Why don’t you fix your little problem and light this candle |
I quit caring when I could not buy a carborateur that was made in the states. Even the "$650 Kawasaki" for my John Deere was made in China. I swear it came out of the same factory as the $28 china one on Amazon. And yes, the Kawasaki one was branded "Made in China". So you can pour your money into middle management types so they can put it in a new box and you feel good inside. Oh and the computer you use to complain about China, was likely mostly made from components that came from China. Anyway, this is a fun looking bike. I already have batts for it, (chainsaw, backpack blower, timmer, and snowblower). now maybe they will do a small go cart . . . This business will get out of control. Don't Panic |
I have no need or desire, but I do appreciate the design! Also, for those concerned about the range thing....unlike electric cars, with this you could take along a couple spare batteries and double your range.

There's a difference between elective and mandatory purchases. And there's that whole smart shopper thingie. If my only option for meds keeping me alive or parts keeps my car running are from China, then I'm likely near the front of the line to buy. Other items may not be mandatory, but impractical to source from other than China. I know the LED light bulbs I recently bought for my home and for my employer were Chinese -- pretty much all the lights I saw were Chicom. I have an EGO chainsaw. Bought it in Nov-2019 to deal with the substantial tree damage from Spring 2019 storms at the family ranch. Didn't realize EGO was Chinese at the time. Here's my current saw lineup. EGO with 15" bar, Stihl 310 with 16", Stihl 261 with 16", Stihl 400 with 20" and 25" bars. The EGO saw did much of the limbing for the roughly 100 acres of forest that I've cleaned up so far. And yes, the EGO worked. Still have 20 acres to go from the 2019 storms. One 5Ah battery crapped out and was replaced on warranty. Three saws have crapped out due to bar oiler failures -- this is #4. All saws were replaced under warranty by Ace Hardware/EGO. EGO saw oiler gears must be made of Cheetos and Styrofoam. My EGO saw warranty expires in Nov-2024 -- maybe saw #4 will last that long, maybe not. But right now I'm working more on beetle kill pines, so I'm using the more powerful gas saws. I've felled, cut up, and hauled 120 beetle trees so far in 2023 & 2024. Might be half way done on this part of our forest work. ***** I don't buy clothes that are made in China, and I look at labels.. A couple of years ago I got to play golf in Myrtle Beach. I wanted a few nice shirts with the logos of the courses I played. One of the nicest looking shirts had a "Made in China" tag -- I chose to buy other shirts. ***** I have a Vortex LPVO scope that is made in China. Should have realized by the low price that it was Chinese, but I wasn't thinking. I won't do that again. For the vast majority of us, optics aren't life-and-death decisions. We can slow down our purchases and buy better. Last year I decided to add a red dot sight at a 45 degree offset to one of my ARs. Could have gone with a Holosun and saved money over a Trijicon. Nope, Trijicon it was -- even with its higher price. ***** A few years ago our family purchased a side-by-side UTV and a single seat ATV, both from Polaris. I realize there are Chinese parts in Polaris vehicles. Not thrilled about that, but at least many of the parts are American, the machines are made in America, and I believe Polaris is an American company. We could have saved many thousands of dollars by buying Chicom UTV - ATV. Effectively managing 280 acres of pasture means these were pretty much mandatory purchases, so we did our best to keep our money out of Chinese hands. We've purchased and replaced weed spraying systems to manage the pastures -- 55 gallon tow-behind with the UTV and 20 gallon on the ATV. We could have invested a lot less by buying Chinese sprayers, but we bought American sprayer systems. Yeah, the sprayers likely have some Chicom parts, but it's minimal. We can chose not to buy communist- socialist-marxist for many things. Especially for elective purchases.

It takes two 7.5 AH batteries, not the 5 AH batteries I use with my EGO trimmer, edger, and hedge trimmer. I bet that 20 mile range is on a flat surface, not climbing. A Honda Navi will reach 50 mph and the combined mpg is 76. It has a 0.0 gal tank so about 68 mile range. Fill it up and off you go.
