11 years ago February, M-11 Jr put on his dept's uniform. Small town, small pay they needed food stamps to help out. Being the FNG, he was the Nuisance Officer (dog catcher/ property & building ticket giver). He didn't complain, he used it as an opportunity to get to really know HIS town. And the folks in it. He moved up. Regular patrol, FTO, etc. Then came political issues and he and several others moved to the next county as deputies for 9 months.

But he came back; back to HIS town. And was so good at working their section of the interstate they sent him to high-speed pursuit school. He was point man on their SWAT team. Then came promotion to Sgt. Having learned a lot about small town politics along the way he also learned how to run a dept and personnel so they made him Lt.

Last night the Police Board and city council decided he was the right guy to take over as Chief on March 1.

Ya done good, Son!
