As of today, 699 handguns are available to purchase new in the state of California. Here’s hoping the Supreme Court strikes down this abomination, and the wall crumbles. I’ll buy a p320 to celebrate when it happens.

Good luck! I'd like to see it happen for you, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Strangely, browning paid to have 3 versions of the MkIII hi power renewed even thought they are out of production. So I plan to buy at least one this year.

Not a lawyer or judge but I can’t see how the courts can’t see that this gun control by default. The micro stamping is obviously not viable. Eventually gun companies will move on and not pay to keep their old models on the roster and new guns won’t qualify due to the requirements. Very sad.

I was there the day Liquid Nails was yanked from the shelves. Halfway through a high school stage extension project - all donated labor.

And now their former AG is a CA senator. With presidential aspirations.

While painful in the short term, this is probably good in the long run. As firearms legally available anywhere else continue to fall off of the roster this law becomes less and less defensible.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

Thanks Eponym. I was posting from my painfully slow phone.

I've had some very good job offers in California, and have rejected them because of California firearm laws. That alone is more than enough to keep me out.

Also because it's California.

When S&W cleaned up the trigger on the M&P, the CA DOJ declared that was a significant mod and it had to qualify as a new gun. Glock has continued to make gen 3s and keep them in the roster. Many other manufacturers have just moved on. Too bad more of them didn’t take the Ronnie Barrett approach.
