I wear a Marathon Jumbo Day/Date almost all the time, but I’d recommend a smaller one for a first.

Lots of great suggestions already. I’ve got nothing to add really. Christopher Ward has a beautiful white faced GMT that I lust over.

I’ve got a Bearnhardt. Good watch, but doesn’t really speak to me.

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

I damaged my Christopher Ward C60 Chronograph bad enough to warrant a case replacement. Being a fan of watches and a HUGE Seiko fan/modder I know about what a quality 300m+ Diver case costs, I’ve bought dozens of them from various manufacturers. When I royally messed up my nearly new watch I was expecting a bill waaaaaay more than what I was quoted. Even with including a watch regulation (fine tuning for best possible time keeping) my estimate came well under my best case scenario figure. I was shocked.

I absolutely adore Christoper Ward, their customer service gives Elshan Tang (founder of Zelos) a run for his money.

The three companies who have treated me like family with any and all customer service related questions and issues are:

Christoper Ward
Zelos
Doxa

Incredible. and AWESOME! That guy has to be here somewhere on SF.

I should add that this guy was a customs cop and ran the watch shop as sort of a hobby thing for his GF, later wife. He was a total badass and looked the part. I can imagine, had I not paid him, I'd have been cuffed and stuffed before getting off the plane on my next visit to Germany. But I did visit the shop on my next trip and had another Sinn overhauled there. In fact, his wife had blown off my emails months earlier about setting this up and acted totally surprised when I walked in the door. She was about to head out to Turkey for vacation. But then she said she'd move my watch to the front of the line and ship it to my local buddy before I had to head home. She knew I was good for the payment and told me to just pay her later via PayPal. The auto watch community can be quite the fraternity.

$1500 from a solid seller

I've bought from Rob before. (an embarrassing number of times). Wink Muzzleloader: If you decide to try for this, email me first and I'll try to help you out.

If the Marathons are tickling your fancy, look at:

I picked up a CSAR from him a little while ago and couldn't have been more happy!
