Retro is a cyclical marketing ploy. They figure what demographics are with high discretionary income that isn't being serviced as much as current trends. Then they figure what were the hot things during the teen age years of said demographic for which they would be willing to shell out cash today.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Maybe Chevrolet could try the retro Camaro again. Chrysler got the Challenger right. Ford got the Mustang right. But the Camaro really missed the real retro look.

My first car was a ‘76 B210...

We used to jump that thing over snowdrifts like we were the Dukes of Hazzard...

I’d take a new retro version of it anytime.
