Wow, Mtn House has raised their prices significantly over the past year. I bought a bunch of pouches for hunting last year (Aug 2017). I bought them from a website called theepicenter.com as they sell them from below MSRP. At that time I made a spreadsheet with prices. Looks like the 30% off is close to what thepicenter had last summer (some higher, some lower).

But the .gov tells us there's no inflation, right? I will probably pick up some pouches as the price will probably go up again.

What's everyone's take on Mountain House for "emergency" food.

I want to beef up (pun intended) our emergency stock.

Do y'all like to just buy the emergency ration buckets or pick and choose from their other offers?

Check out the above thread. Good info there. Mountain House seems to have a better taste & higher quality of emergency food then other brands. There are ways of preparing food yourself. Info again in the thread. I have a combination of #10 tins, some 14 day emergency prepardness kits,and pouches. We have opened and ate some pouches for dinner. Pretty good. YMMV and it depends on your needs. Don't forget water storage.

I've tryed most of the competition and prefer Mt House overall. Stocked my basement with over 100 #10 cans of it because they have the best packaging protocols for long life. If the SHTF, we'll be eating well once the usual cans and freezer goods are gone. With the 30% off it's just slightly better than Costco. That is, if you get the free shipping at $100 and over. If you were thinking of buying some, I doubt you'll find cheaper.
