A circulating fan- is the tip of the fan blade moving faster than parts of the blade which are closer to the rotation axis?
Some engineering just blows my mind and I'm honest enough to admit it is miles above my intellect. Example: Concorde (And similar military aircraft) flew at Mach 2.0 but had to slow down engine intake air to 0.5 Now consider this was engineered by guys using drafting tables and slide-rulers! Ancient man had this figured out when he realized he could throw a spear faster and farther if he held another tool in his hand to engage the spear, essentially lengthening his own arm. Modern man often use a similar tool to chuck tennis balls for dogs to retrieve.
