Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) announced on Tuesday that she will not seek a second term, setting her Democratic and GOP challengers up for a two-way race.

The independent senator’s decision to not run for reelection comes after nearly a year of speculation about her political future. Should she have chosen to run, the race would have put Sinema’s theory that most voters have also spurned their party identity to the test. Polls indicated it would be an uphill climb for an independent to build enough of a centrist coalition to win statewide.

Ruben Gallego or Kari Lake? Mostly Lake, yes?

Mark Lamb is running for the GOP Senate primary along with Kari Lake and others. A friend in AZ who supported Kari Lake is now behind Lamb, likes him a lot.

Has Kari Lake lost a lot of support after her loss to Katie Hobbs?

I'm only asking because in the most recent polling from 2/21-2/26/24 from Rasmussen Reports:

Lake is winning in 3 way race with Gallego/Lake/Sinema
Lake is leading 33%/37%/21% respectively

Lake is winning in 2 way race with Gallego/Lake
Lake is leading 42%/45% respectively

Of course anything can and will change I suspect.

I really think Lake will benefit. Gallego is so connected to Biden's policies- he voted 100% with the idiot. AZ is still a purple state, and IMO, the voters will vote against Biden and his policies.

This is it exactly. This just made the race much more difficult for Lake. This was definitely a move to help the left.
