Darth, maybe that is but a part of the equation. Maybe this is the end result of an elite, untouchable ruling class that cares more about enriching themselves off the backs of their indentured servants productive but propagandized citizens than they care about improving their nation. I bet parts of the USA are on par with Russia when it comes to shithole status. We won the Cold War only to slowly progress to the point of aspiring to become a gay, super fabulous version of the USSR.
