Ok, I stopped watching NBC in Denver because of it's absolutely fraudulent stories aligning with the liberal agenda.

ABC 7 does better, is not slated nearly as much, say like "CNN aka Clinton News Network". More liberal leaning, but at least not outright lies.

So, here's 3 stories that tell me I want to move...

Debate over giving drug users a safe space to use in Colorado
...edit...
"We basically want to take injecting out of the public sphere and into a controlled environment," Lisa Raville of the Harm Reduction Action Center (HRCA) said.

She's talking about a legal, supervised place to shoot up. Leave your needles, and leave.

"No one acquires HIV or Hep C, they dispose the equipment, and if they overdoes there is a trained professional there to respond to that," she said, adding that it would be in a discreet location.
...end...

Denver mayor drafts executive order to push back on Trump immigration policy
...edit...
DENVER – Mayor Michael Hancock is drafting an executive order that would create a legal defense fund for immigrants as part of a series of new policies aimed at pushing back against the Donald Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

The legal defense fund would be in place through Jan. 20, 2021—the first day of the president’s current term—and would help pay for lawyers for people threatened with deportation, according to a fact sheet of the draft executive order provided to Denver7 Tuesday. The Denver Post reports the fund would be created mostly from donations.
...end...

'I don't want my son to die,': Mom, lawsuit claim Colo. is withholding Hep C treatment from inmates
...edit...
"When it comes to him being sick, I'm the Mama Bear -- I'm going to protect my son," Olen Olson said.

Her son, Joseph DeAguero, is incarcerated at the Arrowhead Correctional Center in Canon City for assault.

Olson said he has a chronic case of Hepatitis C that is not being effectively treated by prison staff.

"I don't want my son to die," Olson said. "And that's what would happen if he doesn't receive treatment. He will die."

DeAguero is not one of the plaintiffs on the lawsuit, but Olson had been in contact with the ACLU prior to the organization filing the case.
...edit...
"Granted, my son's in prison because of something he did," Olson said. "All the inmates are in there for something they did. But does that mean they're not entitled to receive medical care? I think they are."
...end...

Ok, so the 3rd article is a bit of a bunny hole, but if you read the partner story reported on Westword (the lib-rag paper here in CO), you find out that a triple murderer is one of the ones suing...

There is a fine line between states rather rights versus federal involvement. In the case of assisting criminals here illegally, those that obstruct the law of the land openly need to be held accountable. Openly, and without reservation.

I'm sure there are 'useful idiots' that really feel this nonsense is the right sort of approach.

I think the prog's idea on gaining power is to find borderline states, and get them to do outrageous things. Goal: incent thinking people to move out to more normal states.

That has the effect of turning purple states blue, and turning red states redder. Bingo, more electoral votes, as those red states were lost already.

For those here who live in Denver; do you think the open use of drugs is a consequence of the recreational pot?

My brother lives in Aurora and thinks he's noticed an uptick in the openness of drug users (other than pot) and more petty crime as a whole.

The brief flirtation at being a red state during the 90's was not natural for Colorado. I'm old enough to remember our senators were Tim Wirth and Gary Hart and a democrat governor. I would think most reasonable democrats don't like this either, but its not enough for them not to vote for democrats.

I don't live in Denver (and hope never to again), but do live near a little town down south of Denver. For whatever reason (yes pot is legal, etc.), there has been a huge influx of people from "wherever", that think they can move here and just grow a lot of pot. Which, of course isn't the case. You need permits, variances, land, water, etc. But, I have seen a lot of people move here and think because pot is legal, they can do whatever they want. DEA is having a field day around here with all the illegal pot grows. The Sheriffs are very busy. Lots of out of towners that think anything goes. It is frustrating.

And the heroin use is on the uptick.

Colorado has always had a large number of independent voters many times outnumbering registered republican or democrats. As a result the independents control the elections.

We can all thank the republican party for Colorado being a blue state. Groups such as Focus on the Family and Coloradans for Family Values basically have a chokehold on the republican party there. They control who gets nominated and it's always a very far right religious conservative. The way right policy statements scare the independents and the democrats get into office. One only needs to look at the 2010 governor's race when Dan Maes, the republican candidate only received 10% of the vote.

I would agree with bigpond...

I moved from the Denver city limits to a close suburb.

I actually dread going downtown now, but in the 90s, the 16th street mall was THE place to go.

Petty crimes up, MURDER UP, VIOLENT CRIMES UP!

"Heavy" drug use up.

Almost every week, someone's getting shot in N Denver and sometimes elsewhere.

We've had a few car jacking murders around here, one right down from my work!!!

My community doesn't have rec mj and there's still issues. Surely the appeal of legal pot draws people but it didn't exclusively draw an avg of around 100k new residents per year for the last decade plus. We have record low unemployment. Yeah, no more Sing Sing and the 16th St mall sucks. What really sucks is traffic. I'm a transplant and I'm sick of the population growth.

San Francisco will soon give needle users their very own safe space as well. And why not? Illegals and criminal scum already enjoy their safe spaces there.

Some city beat them to it.

A secret, supervised place where users can inject drugs has been operating in the U.S. for 3 years.

That's why natives types don't live in Denver.
I wonder if Pat Shroeder still lives in Denver.

Not now. Beautiful country, but not now.
