Tossing the questioner into the pool is a bit of Zen lore from the 11th or 12th century, IIRC. The lesson goes:

A sensi [whose name I cannot recall, but Bosu comes to mind] was asked by a student "How does one become one with Zen?" Whereupon the sensi pushed the student into a pond. The student, shocked said "Why did you do that? I'm all wet!" To which the sensi replied "So will it be with Zen when you jump in."

I'll look to see if I can find that story in one of my books on Zen.

I just read FOX article today where that communist traitor Zegal is being given an award by War Crimes Dictator Putin the "Order of Friendship" Given out to people who "encourage citizens for activities aimed at ensuring the well-being, prosperity and security of Russia.”

How in the hell can the State Department let that wacko back into this country after that BS. Article also said Putin gave him Russian citizenship in 2016.

He needs to fry

I used to enjoy his movies, too. We have at least two in the DVD/BD library, maybe three.

Under Siege. (Not to be confused with Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, which I give a thumbs down).

Under Siege is the movie whence the "Get my pies outta the oven" line comes and his last "good" movie, IMO. After that he did On Deadly Ground, which was environmentalism billed as an action movie, then US2: Dark Territory, which was a failed attempt to extend the Casey Rybeck franchise.

After those two, in particular, things just went from bad to worse.

It did bring about an excellent line from Travis Dane....

With regards to the video on the first post, I don't think there is any doubt that it's staged.

Vladimir Putin signs a decree honoring US actor – and Russian citizen – Steven Seagal

CNN

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to honor the American actor Steven Seagal with the state Order of Friendship.

The decree cited what it called Seagal’s “great contribution to the development of international cultural and humanitarian cooperation.”

Seagal has been a regular visitor to Russia and became a citizen of the country in 2016, when he received a Russian passport from Vladimir Putin personally. He has also worked as the Russian Foreign Ministry’s “special representative” to the United States and Japan.

The former action hero backed Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea and has supported its invasion of Ukraine. He visited the occupied Donbas area last summer.

In an interview on Russian television last year he spoke of an existential threat to Russia from Ukraine.
