Glad to hear the good news! We'll keep praying for a full recovery.

I run trains!

| The update we were all waiting for, she’s home! The drain tube was taken out this morning. This allowed her to start walking on it again. Imagine the PT gal’s surprise when Emmie not only got off the bed unassisted, but also walked around the entire children’s floor without difficulty, climbing and descending their practice stairs numerous times with ease. Between that and favorable blood test results the ortho surgeon and infectious disease doc felt comfortable discharging her this afternoon to start on oral antibiotics. Suffice it to say we’re all ecstatic! She’s obviously tired from the ordeal but in great spirits. I suspect she’ll crash early tonight, but it’s wonderful to have the whole family back under one roof. We follow up with her PCP and Orthopedic surgeon in about a week, but prognosis is still looking good. Thank you all for all the well wishes and prayers, I have no doubt they allowed for her very positive progress since Sunday.

Very thankful for the doctor who saw us during the practice’s Saturday morning hours. Were it not for his thoroughness in attempting to rule out some of the less likely causes of her pain we might not have caught it this early. As it just so happens our previous PCP for the kids just left this same practice. We had not yet transitioned over to a new one, but after this event I’m going to try my darnedest to get them all on as his patients.
