I won't even wear shorts outside of my house. Sleep wear only. A skirt.... You're fucking kidding me right?
I would much prefer to have lived when men wore collared shirts, ties and hats and women wore dresses.

A) What I will wear on a range, is a bit different than what I wear in public. (I also wear Vibram 5 finger shoes, with hot pink "nails" as well, just to irk a buddy.)

B) Kilts are easily semi-formal. (I don't think there's a white-tie version of a kilt.)

Now, that I'm a Kraut (albeit a Swiss version) rather than Scot would be an issue... Not sure lederhosen would be as cooling...

The difference between a kilt and a skirt is that you wear panties under a skirt.

There's a lot of disagreement on this point. For example: Why don't Scots wear underwear under their kilts? and What do Scotsmen wear under kilts, apart from their kilt shoes?

TL;DR: Sometimes they do. Sometimes they don't.

Nor that any normal, sane man would want to be seen walking around in an outfit like that and think that he was being cool to do so.

Regarding kilts, I think many of the modern casual ones are constructed similarly to skirts (I call them cheater kilts), but the traditional ones involve several yards of fabric and require a lot of folding and wrapping every time you put them on and are nothing like skirts.

Aglifter, I'll agree to disagree. I wouldn't wear something out of the house I wouldn't want to be seen in. Too many state dependents in their PJs I wouldn't want to get lumped in with.
I will say that your choice in footwear sounds like something I would do, especially if a buddy was unwise enough to let me know it bothered him. Formal or not, they should be left to women or those of Scottish ancestry.

A Perpetual Disappointment...

But you'd wear one if you weren't leaving the house? Or you'd wear one in public if you didn't get "lumped in" with some other group?

What has happened to the world??

A man in a skirt is a cross-dresser.

Confused

About every 20 years or so someone in the fashion world thinks men should go to wearing kilts/skirts. That's nice. I think I'll pass. Chris

There would simply be no way that I could take seriously a man in a dress. Their words would have no meaning to me. I could not recognize any authority they claim to have. They would be- now and forever- nothing more than a very bad joke.
I wouldn't even pay them the courtesy of looking them in the eye.

Bruce

I think it’s fair to ask, “WTF is a ‘tactical duty’ kilt?”

It has pockets...they hold 3 cans of beer each.....not sure how many magazines.

I keep threatening to wear mine out in public....wife says she will not be seen with me, I have worn it to a couple pool parties.

Breezy on the boys is nice in Texas during July

Since they were invented, the real badasses wear pants.

Your only excuse to not wear pants is that you're enough of a primitive screwhead that your people haven't been introduced to pants yet.

Men should dress like men period. Wearing a dress is not manly. I am sick of all of this transgender, pangender, whatever you call it crap. The liberals won't be happy until until men are looked down upon like in some other nations/countries of this world.

dude,,

my brother is Mr. Earth Tone when it comes to clothing,

we ordered some Polo shirts from a local company that embroidered our company logo on them,

he ordered Stone, Green(olive) and Blue,, multiples of each

I ordered light pink, tropical pink, orange, red, blue and green,,

I also have somewhat matching color Madras shorts to were with them,,

after 4 yrs, he has finally gotten over it,,
I used to hear about how nothing but queers were pink, and WTF would you wear pink to a gunshow,, but he has mellowed now,, somewhat,,

told the wife I may order a tactical kilt (17% scots irish ) just to get a rise out of him

I kind of understand that these "men" are trying to make a fashion statement, unfortunately the statement that I hear is "Look at me, I'm an idiot."

I have to agree with Para, I would be hard pressed to take any man in a skirt seriously...

Ummm...Romans considered pants to be barbarian clothes. Soldiers wore tunics to fight pants-wearing Germans and whatnot.

So if the men who don't wear pants came and subjugated all the men who do wear pants, I'm not sure your argument is valid.

"Told the wife I may order a tactical kilt (17% scots irish ) just to get a rise out of ..."him".

This not-so-stealthy statement is one about coming out of the closet in the guise of a normal, garden variety quibble with one's lover which we on the forum are suppose to just pass over like it's a normal statement. It isn't. It's 2 queers debating. Hey, they call each other that...kinda like another group who can call each other the n word, but whitey best not...

Normal, that is to say heterosexals, don't make statements like the above unless they're some of pervert

Why or how is that?

Let me clarify.

Female (not male) refer to husbands as "he". And vice versa.

Just because queers pretend to marry is just another form of het-normal mockery and an just another attempt to tear down het-normal values.

No matter how hard you lgbtq types try to mainstream yourselves as just regular Joes whose only difference between het-normal vs homo is you sexually prefer to pole smoke and take it in the hiney otherwise you're normal just isn't so. You're deviants.

You're repellent work at tearing down all het-normals values while Chesire cat grinning knowing your lying while you mock and try to degrade is not going un noticed.

Just remember, the bullying of the majority is only allowed so far by the majority...once that quota is filled you won't be laughing and insisting deviants are winning.

Hysterical female 'look at me' 'look at me' behavior by drag queens, queers marrying queers, males referring to each other as "she" and other such destructive attempts to mainstream queers just isn't, in the long run, going to work.

It pays to actually read what people write. The "him" to which that poster was referring is his brother, not his wife. Roll Eyes

O.K., I was way off base, I apologise.

As you may have noticed since hte most recent ruination of the B.S.A., my ire at queers is at an all time high...

They along with all the other lefties (yes, I'm aware a tiny percentage of pole smokers are Conservative) want to tear down what we normals value and I for one will not quietly, fearfully, acquiesce so as not to be called a homophobe.

Well I'm not a phobe of any kind, I merely find homo's repellent in appearance (often) behavior (often) ... and will speak up when I do come across it.

Yes, you've mentioned this several times and now, there is no need for you to ever again tell us about how much you dislike homosexuals.
