One of the great things about owning your own successful business is that you can work any 60 hours of the week you want.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I have the scars to prove it!

Spend $75K on scratch off tickets, then spend the rest of some vocational training, either lamp lighter or street car conductor.

there is a Mennonite school that teachs the kids trades as well as the other stuff,
I'd buy them a long arm quilting machine and some supplies , then ask them for a percentage of the take.

the kids make a few bucks, the school makes a few buks and I get a little something ,
and ! they learn a trade in the process

An opportunity has come to your area. There is significant money to be made in disaster recovery, as I mentioned earlier before Florida was threatened with Irma. You mentioned insurance fraud investigation. There will be plenty of that, I can guarantee that. There will be lots of opportunity to provide security services.

Yeah I saw it. A friend of mine was still practicing orthodontics at 70, even though his wife was worth millions. Maybe its HER MONEY HIS MONEY. Who knows?

I saw that and thought: If my wife made that much, I would have been retired a long time ago. Smile

The need to make your own money is something I fully understand. I know someone whose wife is a corporate attorney that does big mergers. She bills at $5,000.00 an hour and is worth at least $70 million.

Some ideas:
  • towing company - you'll need a tow truck and an impound lot
  • a P.I.
  • locksmith
  • mobile auto windshield repair
  • virtual call center from home
  • uber or taxi-type service for the elderly
  • pickup/deliver groceries for the elderly
  • snowplowing

You can't make real money consistently without having good employees making money for you. Trying to do it all yourself is an exercise in small time.

I knew many guys that were a one man show mostly and made a good living. Not getting rich.
When their business grew they got to the point where they had to hire people. That is when the problems started.

In my industry, here in Florida, I know lots of one man shows making 6 figures, year after year.

Chinchilla farms are making a comeback, too. Ground floor opportunity.
