I believe in the principle of Due Process |
The headline alone seems straight from Comedy Central.
Link Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Woman accuses New York Times of pretending to be a newspaper... "I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation." Alfred Hornik, Sunday, December 2, 1945 to his family, on his continuing duty to others for surviving WW II.

Not bloody likely. The verdict...We the court find for the plaintiff and direct the defendant to pay the plaintiff $.10, the worth of the reputation of the NYT's. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns. And several dogs, because a man with a cat is a woman. Kurt Schlichter

No double standards |
My neighbor, in a magnanimous gesture for the week he was going on vacation, offered to let me pick up and read his daily copy of the NYT before I put it on his porch. When I indicated I would put it on his porch but didn't need to read it, he was shocked and disappointed. (My neighbor is from Berkeley). "Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women. When it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it....While it lies there, it needs no constitution, no law, no court to save it" - Judge Learned Hand, May 1944

Something tells me your neighbor would be in need of continuous mental therapy if he and I were to ever chat. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. The Times is perfectly capable of sullying its own reputation without any help from others. She might actually improve it. _______________________________________________________ despite them

Too old to run, too mean to quit! |
Beat me to it! Elk There has never been an occasion where a people gave up their weapons in the interest of peace that didn't end in their massacre. (Louis L'Amour) "To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical. The Times probably got suspicious when they realized she was actually doing truthful reporting.

That is a ridiculous verdict!!! It overstates the value of the NYT’s reputation by a factor of one thousand.
