Well, nothing really, but she has a compelling R&B voice and hit it pretty big in 2000 with the single "I Try" which won the 2001 Grammy for best female pop vocal performance.

She hasn't been in the news much, and hasn't charted since. But now, she has plenty of attention.

"I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation."

Alfred Hornik, Sunday, December 2, 1945 to his family, on his continuing duty to others for surviving WW II.

My kids went to public schools. I did that because I wanted them in school with everyone else, not just elite private school kids. When I'd be cut off in an intersection, I might say, "that Mexican cut me off."

"Dad, you're racist," I'd hear. Something they picked up in school.

"Is Mexico a race?" I'd ask. No, it's a country. Mexican is a nationality. Is brown or black a race? No, it's a color. Go down the list. Religion? Not a race. Culture? Not a race. Creed? Nope. In fact, because "race" is a subspecies, and the human species has none, there is no such thing as race.

One who perpetuates the lie of race is a racist. Someone who engages in racism, spouting about race, is a racist. If Ms. Grey claims that the flag is racist, that makes her, by definition, a racist. She is perpetuating the myth.

A primary color in the flag is red, for blood spilled in defense of the flag and the nation for which it stands. A great deal of that blood was spilled fighting racism, not only in the US, but abroad. The troops carrying that flag have liberated slaves, concentration camps, and fought against tyranny.

I was in Walmart not long ago, at the computer section. A man asked the clerk to provide the home number of a worker, which the clerk refused to do under store policy. The man began shrieking, "You have no idea who I am. I'll have your job. I'll own this whole fucking store. You messed with the wrong black man. You're doing this because I'm black, you racist. I'll make you sorry."

That was racist. The flag, not so much.

Thank you.
I did not know who this person is.
At first I thought it might have been a government official(Congressman/Senator).

LOL fellas, I don't actually "use" tw*tter. I just go on there to read opposing viewpoints with provided links. Sometimes it is hilarious, most often it is troubling.

I read somewhere, perhaps on this forum, the question..."Why do so many Americans hate their own country?" I just don't see what theses "elites" are whining on about.

She's free to leave just like all the other leftist celebrities who promised to leave the country in 2016.

She doesn't seem much different than the celebrities who tried to say goodbye, but they choked. Who tried to walk away but they stumbled.

I still don't know who she is. I only listen to Classical music. I didn't bother doing a web search--no interest.

Could this be a one hit wonder grasping for relevancy? She had to know her statement would not be well received. This feels a lot like when Eminem was all of a sudden anti Trump. Anyone with a brain could realize it was just a thinly veiled “hey look at me! Orange man bad”. Lame

Years ago there were people joking that progressives would eventually try to cancel the American flag. Everyone said that was ridiculous. But as time goes on they get more and more detached from reality. Orange man really broke their ability to reason. They are driven my emotions and such a movement is inevitably going to collapse under the enormous weight of its own bullshit.

insignificant twit. Who gives a fuck what she thinks. The next time the US is attacked, let her hold a pride flag and lead the marines in a beach landing, or jump out of plane along with the 101st, or kick down doors with the SEALS. Nope, she'll be hiding under her bed crying for help.

Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves.

The "any publicity is good publicity" gambit? (Worked well for the Dixie Chicks Wink.)

Both times I read the title of this thread, 'Macy Gray wants a new US flag', it made me think of what my parents would say to such a statement like Mikey wants a bigger room; I want to have ice cream for dinner every day; I want... I want...

"People in hell want ice water too."

God knows I miss them both.

Get used to it. Attacking symbols is one of the commie's favorite tactics.

We believe arming our fellow Americans – both physically and philosophically – helps them fulfill our Founding Fathers' intent with the Second Amendment: To serve as a check on state power.
