That joke was funny 34 years ago, before H-D (due to the efforts of the AMF era leadership) introduced the EVO engine.

I keep up just fine, but the oil leak jokes aren't about a possible mistake when installing a clamp on just the 2017 touring bikes. They are about all H-D engines having a reputation for constantly leaking oil. However, that reputation was developed before the EVO, and then the Twin-Can engines, which are "oil tight."

Therefore the oil leak jokes haven't had a basis in fact for more than 3 decades.


It's not a "possible mistake" but a major factory production line fuck up which keeps the old HD oil leak jokes alive.

With sales declining and HOG stock prices falling, why can't the Motor Company get their shit together.

It's looking like VW might hold on to Ducati. I don't believe HD even placed a bid thus far. Reports I am reading seem to point towards a reluctance in VW's supervisory board to sell Ducati.

It's the labor unions on the VW board who are opposed. I could guess at their motives, it's not really hard.
