That is a 30% fucking tax. Apparently, DHL pays all of that stuff for you, throws on a bunch of other, non-optional fees, then bills you for all of it.

Does that line up with the current situation with goods from Germany? If that’s what this is, I may just have to eat it. I don’t see anything getting cheaper once this tariff crap calms down, regardless.

The shipper also dropped the ball on my order by 2 months. They did apologize, but if they had gotten it shipped out in a matter of weeks like they originally stated, I’m thinking this would have been avoided. I informed them of the current situation and asked if a refund is possible if I refuse the shipment; we’ll see what they say.

I've had to provide my SSN to UPS and Fedex for imports, I assume DHL is the same. I thought it was weird too the first time. Went out of my way to talk to someone directly to confirm it.
