There is a center for birds of prey there I am good friends with. The Caring Owl is a farm off the southern coast and they are oblivious to what is going on. They think they are too small for the government to bother them, however the savages would kill them all and burn the far for no other reason that they had spooky owls there bringing death to the villages once the government gives them the go ahead. Just to the north of them is a military garrison that would be on them like ants. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! Here, poke at it with this stick. | |||

Superstitious beliefs can truly cause horrendous results. And a nice demonstration of the myth of how native peoples are supposedly more in touch with and knowledgeable of their local environment than someone like an outside researcher or invader. Although Donald Morris, the author of the 1965 book The Washing of the Spears, would no doubt be excoriated today by the Social Correctness crowd for having the audacity to point it out, superstitions and taboos among the Bantus of southern Africa affected and influenced their lives in many harmful ways.
