Hess is a oil company that had gas stations through out New Jersey and in other parts of the eastern United States. As a kid growing up every Christmas I got a toy Hess truck. They were first sold at the gas stations right around Thanks giving and sold till the supply was gone. They are now sold on line. I remember waiting on line at the gas station to buy one with my parents. Over the year they were either broken or forgotten about and did not pay much attention to them however every year I got a new one for Christmas. Fast forward, as a young adult I still receive a Hess truck for Christmas but now instead of playing with it till I broke it I started to collect them. As an old adult I still get one from my mother for Christmas At last count I have 37 of them. I wish I had all the ones I first got. They were toys and got played with and eventually broke or were discarded. Any one else collect them? The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. I am with 71 Truck. Played with, eventually went away. Unfortunately. A fiend of my son’s kept many, and gifted many to my grandson. They are absolutely classic.

I have a few, but most got played with & broken. Had a chance about 15 years ago to buy about 5 of them, in the box. One of them was the 1970 fire truck. It was missing a couple of parts, but mostly complete.

I bought a 2-3 for my grandson, which also got played with and are gone. There was a Hess station down the street from where he lived, but I just checked and it's now a Speedway.

I lived in Hattiesburg, MS when I was a small boy, and I well recall seeing the 18 wheeler rig they were selling that had working lights. I worked Santa hard that year for one of those things. Thanks everyone for the replies. I was looking at Ebay and the prices for some of the trucks has gone up quite a bit over the years. I wish I had some of the early ones I received. Some of the ones I have go back to the 80s. A friend of my fathers who worked for Hess in the corporate office for decades, I was told has all the entire collection.
