Food poisioning
Weeee doggy...

I've had salmonella before, a very unpleasant 10 days of my life I'll never forget. I don't think that is what it was this time, but I remember eating some Mexican sausage as one of the meats in my fajitas on Thursday night and thinking to myself "this doesn't taste exactly right"...

I know what you're thinking..."Who in their right mind eats anything called 'Mexican sausage'"? Good point lol

It's like my stomach shut off from that moment on, not processing any more food. The discomfort didn't kick in until the next morning, when I felt like crap, escalating until I was having body aches and was dizzy.

First time I've actually left work sick that I can remember. Still haven't recovered, though the only vomiting session seemed to clear the top half of my GI out-first round, everything else has been lower GI. Lost about 6 pounds though!

I realize that I'm just guessing about the sausage, but I'll never be able to trust that stuff again...never really trusted it to begin with. This is still better than salmonella though!

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

Chorizo? That stuff is delicious. Not when it makes you shit your brains out, but usually it's pretty good.

Mexican Sausage - you don't buy it, you just rent it.

Had a fish based food poisoning once can’t remember what it was called. Big long fancy word.
Only time I have left work to illness as well.
3 solid days of puking and a short hospitalization.

Lost 18 pounds in a few days. No thanks don’t want that ever again.

Two type of people, those who've had food poisoning, and those who will have food poisoning.

I got mine from Pollo Tropical or Tijuana Flats about 4 years ago and I never stepped foot in to either establishment since.

Just when you think your body is completely empty, there's more. And when theres no more, your body keeps going but you're shooting blanks.

I picked up salmonella AND cryptosporidium in Mexico back in 2013 (lab confirmed when I got back to the US).

I was miserable for a couple weeks. It sucks. Hopefully the worst is behind (our rather, out) of you.

I had it one time many many years ago. It hit me when I was still in Ohio working in the Union Trades.

We were doing an addition to a hotel in downtown cols, and we had to run and eat quickly because we need to fly in the gang forms and get all of them set before the end of the day.

I ran and grabbed subway and I thought this mayo seems off.

Well I slammed it down and climbed up 30feet in the air and buckled in and started bolting the forms together. It was about 90+ degrees and a couple hours later I was down that form and into the outhouse pronto.

I was miserable for days.
I still cannot look at mayo without getting the chills.

Nothing like a good case of food poisoning to help you lose weight. Not only immediate loss, but lessens your hunger pangs for the next several weeks. Talk about a change in life style instead of a diet.

+1 love Chorizo.
I did get poisoned by some chips and white cheese once. But I've never had Real food poisoning. I don't eat slaw or anything like that.

Red Lobster, 1996. Haven’t been in to one since. I realize any establishment can have a bad day, but I just can’t get over the memory. Mrs sc7 still won’t set foot in a Jack in the Box after they killed that kid back in the 80’s or early 90’s.

December 1999, Denny's for breakfast. 3 days and I was plenty cleared out. About a week to get a normal appetite again.

Haven't stepped foot in a Denny's since then.

I and around 30 other people got Shigellosis from a big Mexican food joint in Kerrville back in the mid 90s. Several people were hospitalized. I’m amazed that the place is still in business. Hopefully they have taught their employees to wash their damn hands.

Gas Station sushi. Not me but my friend. I mention it and he gets the dry heaves.

Mamacita's or Taqueria Jalisco?

(We hunted near Kerrville for years)

What some places can hide in all those spices that go into chorizo and the like. It's amazing more don't get deathly ill.

I have gotten it a couple of times from the Taco Cabana salsa bar. I love their green salsa on their chorizo and egg tacos.

It has not stopped me from going there. It does usually take a few months before I return though. I might have a problem.

About 25 years ago, my Dad, brother, and I went to our favorite place for turkey wet burritos. Dad had the normal sized and my brother and I had the grande sized. It hit me before bed, woke my brother up in the middle of the night, and Dad made it to work for an hour. 3 people with violent squirts and only 2 toilets. Truly 24 hours I'd like to forget.

Mom called the restaurant and they gave us a $50 gift certificate to "give them another try." My brother used it 2 years later, but Dad and I never went back between that night and their closing 10 years later.
