I'm trying to remove the old broken dishwasher. It seems to be ... nailed!?? into the granite?

I don't want to totally botch this just in case there's a super easy thing to do to remove (and reuse?) these mounts.

Turn the nut with a thin wrench.

Looks like this. I'd assume the nut is fixed to the plate that is epoxies to the granite. If that's the case I'd say your screws are just corroded.

Yeah, the nut was fixed to the plate. I messed with it some more. One plate came (broke) off the granite, and the other had the screw pry out, it was a tiny screw/bolt with no head. I stripped it out. Bizarre. God only knows how the new one will attach. But this one is free.

They are usually glued on with epoxy. If you put a large screwdriver and drive the plate to the rear of the dishwasher it will pop off. The epoxy doesn’t have much shear strength. It’s how I removed my dishwasher at my old house. When I installed the new one, there are caps in the edge of the interior of the box you can run long screws into the adjoining cabinets and replace the caps. When you close the door the door seals the interior and the screw holes don’t get wet.

I wonder if the installers had to grind the heads of the screws off to have clearance for the door to shut?

I was wondering the same thing. Which has me wondering what I'm in for later today when the new one shows up. There is a 1" lift over the plywood deck, from the floating hardwood floor they'd installed. And of course, the cabinets and appliances are on the goddamned plywood. Cause no way we wanna spring for the extra sq ft of the under counter region.

get rid of those and use an EZ dishwasher bracket on Amazon. Bend the tabs on the side and attatch it to the cabinet stiles on either side of the opening
