I was a member of the BRCC Club & Blackbeards Delight whole bean was my favourite, but I quit because the roast was inconsistent. One bag was a true dark roast & the next could be much lighter. After this happened a couple times, I quit buying from them.

I like Peets Major Dicksons dark roast whole bean now. In a French press.

Hazelnut and Just Black are our favorites so far.

Especially Just Black.

Coffee saves has a bit of a citrus finish we don’t like.

Born and raised in Hawaii, so Kona or Ka'u coffee are my "go to" coffees. Nicaraguan is also very good

We do the BRC Club and get it shipped automatically to house. We supplement with Costco Mayorga Organic Cubano. Both are great - been a BRC customer since early days, quality has been good for me.

I Googled Peets and it looks interesting.
For now I'm gonna try the Murdered Out and see how that is. The Blackbeard's, I'm not sure about. It's just not dark or strong enough with the serving size they recommend. I could add more I suppose but that might ruin the flavor also.

I try to pay attention to the description of the end use on the website. I do like “just black” in my Mr Coffee. “Thin blue line” for pour over. I know there are some other variations I’ve had and enjoyed. I also like the idea of supporting an outfit that isn’t working to destroy this country.

I got a bag of dark roast whole bean from Henry's House of Coffee called "Conquistador". It was really good.

Did you mean to type 195-205?

I didn't use to be a coffee snob, but after a trip to Costa Rica, I fell in love with Tarazzu, and now I have a pound of it delivered to me every month. There are several places that specialize in coffee deliveries from global producers.

I use Coffee Bean Direct, but Cafe Britt also has some great varieties.

I looked into roasting my own. Burman Coffee has the beans, the roasters, and the instructions, if you're into that sort of thing.

I like and support BRCC. Heck, I'm drinking coffee from one of their mugs right now. I've also been down to their headquarters in Salt Lake City on numerous occasions where they also serve up great coffee right on the spot.

My preferred coffee though is by La Barba, a local roaster also in Salt Lake City. Their Guatemala Manos de Mujer is simply fantastic. I buy it in 5lb bags direct from their website. Typically when I order it, it is roasted the very same day and shipped out the same day or the next and i always receive the day after. I love La Barba coffee.

I drink a bunch of coffee but I'm not a coffee snob. I've tried Chemex, french press, pour over all the fancy stuff and come back to my ancient Krups drip coffee maker. I drink Folgers Classic.

That all said, a friend and fellow board member gave me some Beyond black from BRCC and I do enjoy a pot of it now and then.

My 14+ year old Melitta Clarity finally bit the dust. It wasn't SCA certified but tests at CoffeeGeek showed it delivered brewing at the optimum temperatures. What it provided to the carafe confirmed that. Picked up a SCA certified Ninja CM401 on sale during the holidays and am enjoying it.

As for coffee, for decades I experimented with a variety of mail order outfits. But in the last few years have pretty much stayed with a local firm (Essence of Coffee: roastery and eclectic breakfast restaurant) run by an Aussie who also has a big roastery and cafe in Perth. I'm currently subscribed to his Taste of the World which gets me a couple pounds of different whole bean coffees freshly roasted delivered with a frequency I've selected. Keeps things interesting. Smile

That said, I'm expecting delivery of a couple bags of Costa Rica whole bean coffee from Costco. I'm a huge Tarrazu fan and the Costco stuff gets rave reviews. We'll see....

Been tempted by Black Rifle... just never pulled the trigger.

I asked them about their highest caffeine content. Their reply:

Essentially the caffeine content for our blends, except for CAF, is going to be 75 – 150 mg range 100 mg average. CAF is going to have twice that amount!

We're Black Rifle folks in our house, I like Murdered Out, wife prefers Coffee Saves. One cup in the morning, a second just before bed time.

I'm the furthest thing from a coffee snob, drank off the shelf stuff for years, but the BRCC folks seem legit & give back to vets so its no sweat from me to throw a few extra bucks at them for over priced swill. Wink

From the feedback here, it looks like its time to give CAF a shot in the line-up.
