I've just seen this post on the VCRAI.com forum from the Republic of Ireland. Anybody offer him any advice? He is an experienced rifle shooter, BTW.

TIA.

I've just heard of it, no personal experience. It is also not 1000 yards, but 600 max. It might have to do. There is open desert north of Lancaster/Palmdale, also between Victorville and Barstow (I lived there many years, often shooting off I-15 at Hodge Road), but that distance unobstructed and a backstop is pretty unlikely.

Many thanks, Sir. The matter is now closed.
