Tonight as I was brining my youngest son home from the school bus I saw the sunset.

I wasn't able to get all of its magnificence, but was able to capture this image from my backyard with my camera.

11/15/2021 Sunset Boardman, OR (eastern OR desert)

While I agree that your picture is a clubleaf worthy zen moment, I am a bit puzzled that you were brining your son home from the bus.
Is that what people in Oregon call a bath? Big Grin

Stupid rules .. they don't let the kids walk from the bus stop... bus sits there with kids inside until parent shows up to pick them up.

And we are on the east side of the cascades so unlike what people think we have one rainy season in the fall/winter and the rest of the year is very dry (we are desert climate here).

Well with fuel prices going up I try to feed him lots of vegetables so that he is a healthy meal Wink I think I would get more meat off of a toothpick so thank goodness there is fish, fowl, and other critters around the area to eat.

What's the point of having bus service if you still have to brine your kid home from it? Might as well just pick them up from the school instead. Am I misunderstanding something?

our town is 3300 people. Our local public school can't meet state standardized testing (they blame developmentally disabled student and the English as a Second Language Students); this has been going on for almost a decade now. This gives us the option to have our kids go to a charter school an hour away or one of the closer town's schools that are in the same district as the failing district. So our sons go an hour away to school. My oldest started down there in 6th grade and his grades improved immensely (he graduated class of 2019), and our youngest who is now in sixth grade started school down there.

Graduating class for my oldest was 15 students, and my youngest has around 10 in his 5th/6th grade combined class.

By going to the charter school we aren't dealing with liberal indoctrination, Critical Race Theory, teaching that boys can be girls, or teaching some of the other garbage found in public schools... in fact the parents are welcome to spend a day, five a month helping out in the class as a volunteer so parents know what happens in the school (K-12).
