Got to say Chuck Schumer stands out from the other rabid Democrat anti-Trumpers on this one.
Never liked the guy but at least he seems to be drawing the line somewhere.
Maybe he sees the next election unfolding differently, maybe he actually has some sort of principals. In any case, he has spoken out and good on him.

Not wisdom. Ingrained in swamp creatures DNA is survival. Don't attribute his innate will to survive to intelligence, it's no different than than a snakes will to survive.

Deceitful, disingenuous, attention seeking...those are some words that describe Schumer. Stupid is not on the list. He knows elections are won in the middle. The fringe kooks are not enough to sweep the Dems into the majority in the midterms and certainly don't have the numbers to win the White House. So he'll be happy to allow the loony left to do their thing on a local level without much interference, but when a senior national party figure (can you actually believe that's what Mad Max is???) decides to make it a centerpiece of the party, he has to put the kibosh on it lest the centrist Democrats, independents, and never-Trump Republicans get scared away and decide that maybe it's wiser to stay on the GOP train for a while longer.

In my opinion, it doesn't much matter. A lot of the country has seen what the Democrats have become. I imagine a lot of the folks in the middle have very little interest in handing over power to them. I predict the midterms are not going to go as well for the Dems as they are hoping.
