These threads always get to me but I read each and every one out of respect for the love that I know all of these animals gave. I’m sorry for your loss, Ronin.

I thank you all for the kind comments. There is a feeling of emptiness in the house that will not be filled for some time. Such a good, good dog.

Very sorry Ronin. He looks like a great dog. Missed, but never forgotten.

Good, good boy Charlie.

I resisted opening this thread after I first saw it appear, as I knew I was again going to be heartbroken for someone over one of the most difficult things we do, and usually more than once during our lifetime. But I opened the thread in order to share in some way, whatever way I can, over the air, and to take away some of your hurt and pain that you are feeling. Your pup was a beautiful boy, most handsome and a great photo of him that you shared with us. I wish for you and your family some serenity in knowing that you gave Mr. Charlie the last great gift of love that we can give our animals, and that is the gift of peace, although it crushes our hearts to say goodbye to them.

This afternoon when I run my errands, instead of a usual "car cigar" I will pull a special smoke from my humidor, perhaps something from that ISOM in honor of your Charlie and my Jingles, whom I said goodbye to in my arms just under two years ago, and to all the good boys and girls whom we've lost but who still romp around in our minds and in our hearts, and who have made our lives happier, sweeter, and whom we will always love, and whom we will all see again, someday. I believe that.

Wishing you strength, wonderful memories, and peace in this time of great sadness.

VR,
NMP.

Best regards,
Nick.

Ronin, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your family member. The only silver lining is the fact that all dogs go to Heaven. The unwavering love that a dog gives is one of the best things in life.

So sorry to hear this. It sounds like you have a strong, caring son. I had to do the same this year and share your pain.
