What are the lens made of? Glass or plastic? Amazon has scratch removal products for both. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

I buy my multi-focal reading glasses from Amazon at $25 each. So inexpensive, I bought 5 of them and keep them in separate places. Relatively cheap to replace them. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Are these prescription or something special? If not then just buy more. I buy reading glasses 6 at a time on Amazon. Almost all are plastic- hard to maintain for long. If they are something special, where did you get them made? See what they’ll do for you. If no help, I’d try a local LensCrafters type place and see if they’ll polish it out for $10- might do it for free.

My glasses supplier has a one year replacement guarantee against scratches, breaks etc. Give them a call and see if they offer the same. He calls it insurance so I guess it is something he buys or carries.

Costco does have a warranty. Talk to them about alternative materials for any future purchases.

Costco, probably warranty. I opted to pay just a bit more for "high index" lenses at Costco optical department; they are a bit thinner and lighter, and much more scratch and shatter resistant. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Just like with car paint or gun finishes, if the scratch is big/deep enough to feel with a fingertip or snag a fingernail, it won't polish out. If it did, you'd make the surface wavy - again, just like paint or coatings - and destroy the corrective (light bending) properties of the lens. It would probably also destroy any anti-glare coating. Just get them repaired or replaced. "The Almighty, He put some livin' things on this earth so a man can eat." - Festus Haggen, Gunsmoke
