My industry can’t get anything PPE wise right now unless it’s just dumb luck. We’ve been told that all manufacturers are dealing with only the government now and our time frame is April-May, even then it’s not guarantee.

My wife (bless her) told me last night that the mask shortage is over.

"Just look at Amazon," she said. "You can buy anything you want."

So I looked.

Lots of things labeled "N95" None of them looked remotely like an N95 mask, or even one that would meet the standard. None of them were.

My wife told me she'd managed to procure a bunch of them. I asked to see them. All chinese crap, all different styles of some kind of dust mask or cloth mask with little puppies all over it. I wonder how many others bought that junk and thought they were getting something remotely useful (for anything)?

Another thing to remember, you pretty much have to be clean shaven in order for a mask or respirator to function appropriately.

Couple of people mentioned taping the mask or respirator to their faces. There’s no need for that, if worn as designed. If you’re wearing an organic vapor filter, you know real fast when those filters go dead on you. It’s amazing how fast the slowest of people can move when their cartridges go tits up on a bad sewage loss or decomp cleanup.
