a 65-year-old woman walking down the street in the middle of the day was violently assaulted by a man police later identified on surveillance video

New York City police identified the suspect as Brandon Elliot, 38, who was charged with two counts of assault as a hate crime and one count each of attempted assault as a hate crime, assault and attempted assault.

He was already on lifetime parole for fatally stabbing his mother in 2002 , authorities said. He was freed from prison in November 2019, according to police. No other details about the murder were released.



“The value of a victim should not be dependent on the identity of their victimizer.” That’s not the way things have operated since the arrival of BLM on the public scene. The whole operating premise of BLM is that some shootings and some deaths require total national media coverage based on the race of the victim and shooter, while other shootings and deaths can be safely ignored as local crime stories.

Last weekend in Chicago, 36 people were shot and four of them were killed. The week before that it was 21 shot, including a 10-year-old boy, and four killed. And the weekend before that it was 40 shot and four killed. The casualties that weekend included a 13-year-old boy and a police sergeant (both of whom survived).

Perhaps more significantly, there was a mass shooting that weekend in which 15 people at a warehouse party were shot and two of them were killed. Both of the deceased victims, Rayneesha Dotson and Lionel Darling, were black. Did you hear about that mass shooting in the national media?

Matricide should equal the death penalty.

The other two people who just stood there, to include the doorman who closed the building door while she was getting stomped, is evidence for more robust 'Good Samaritan' laws. The women is now dealing with a cracked pelvis, while two men stood around and watched.

Another example of why the whole “Hate Crime” thing is BS and flies in the face of “Equal protection”.

Justice is supposed to be blind. If I kill someone because they of a particular race they are no more or less dead.

If two people are killed of differing race and the killer of one is dealt with more severely than the killer of the other, the system is saying one victim was worth more as a human being than the other.

The “Hate Crime” unit I assume only investigates crimes where there exists a suspected “Hate” element. This might be part of the reason why black on black crime doesn’t really seem to bother too many or get much attention. The message being sent is those lives DIDN’T matter.

This is just one more failed concept meant to appease those incapable of logical thought.

And yeah, there's some truly mean and evil people out there. I deal with a lot of them. That's why I don't leave my house without a pistol.

1.)The steel shutters for the doors and windows had a dual purpose. Primary as a fire protection and also closed up for the 'weekend' celebrations by the drunks who sought to 'shoot as those chinks'. You can still see the impacts on the shutters. Evil has been here for a long time.

2.) Several bunks by the kitchen served as a "opium den".

I know neither of these functions fit the current narrative. But they were revealed to the tours during the '80s when I live just a half block away. Also check out the Canyon City Museum for the two headed calves on display and other interesting items.

At my age I am well past my street brawling ability, short of using a firearm it would be be a hard decision to interfere.

I spent two years in High School with this demographic and they love blind side attacks and sucker punches.

Am I the only one to notice that the majority of these Asian beat downs are committed by a certain segment of the POC crowd? The MSM reports it as if these are all being committed by klan members and their ilk. The videos I have seen follow a different narrative.

No you aren't. Many MSM reports of this attack I received through various news services did not mention the demographic of the attacker, and you had to follow the Twitter link to the "wanted" posting by NYPD to see the photo. Then they went on to blame Trump and his "China Virus" talk or the attacks. And almost all articles about "asian hate crime" in general blame conservatives and not the actual perpetrators.

Asian friends of mine, many in Asia, sent messages or posted about being concerned about coming to the US because of the rise in anti-asian violence. I asked each one, who is committing the violence and most answered they thought it was far right Trump voters. So I showed them the actual facts, overall statistics, and pointed it the attacks are always in far left blue cities and then they "got it". Good part is once they saw the facts they understood and did not try to claim bizarre connections of cause and effect to connect the real attackers with white conservatives. And the Chinese ones know a thing or two about propaganda...

There is this, but also a couple of other things to consider in this case.

This is New York and nobody, not one single person gives a shit about you in general...black, white, yellow, or green. They just don't give a damn. "Ain't me, not my problem". It's just how they are.

Second, most people are not in a position to take on a guy who looks to be around 6'3 and 300 pounds of solid muscle. Go at him with hands? You're next. Go at him with a knife? He's going to use it on you. Go at him with a gun? You're going to prison for 10 years. Remember, this is New York.

What do you do? Protect yourself and your business.

Oh, you're not blind in this narrative. The attacks are real, the violence is real however what's not being told is is who the perpetrators are and the long history of such.

This article came out 10-years ago, in liberal dominated but, also Asian heavy SF Bay Area; 85%! attributed to one specific group. I'm surprised this recently saw sunlight given this era of selective news reporting and narrative crafting. Any and all Asians know this has been going on for decades, most police departments have a couple of officers assigned to dealing with these targeted attacks but, with all the tug n'pull of police budgets, special units are the first to get eliminated.

So it's NYC ~ that means catch and release - no bail, right?
Crime in NYC is no big deal.

I can't comprehend how anyone can stand by and watch that evil being done, no matter his circumstances. Shouldn't even take a millisecond of thought. But I know it's not that simple for some people. That's just reality.

The Legal Aid Society, which represents Elliot, said in a statement: "We strongly urge the public to reserve judgment until all the facts are presented in court. Mr. Elliot has a constitutional right to counsel and due process."

The attack on the Asian woman, who was on her way to church, unfolded about 11:40 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of West 43rd Street, which is in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan, police said.

Police released video that captured a man kicking the victim in her stomach, causing her to fall to the ground. The man then stomped the woman's head multiple times while making anti-Asian statements, police said.

The woman, who is of Filipino descent, was diagnosed at the hospital with a fractured pelvis, the DA's office said. She was discharged Tuesday.

Before the attack, Elliot allegedly "stated 'F--- you, you don’t belong here, you Asian,'" the DA's office said.

Video appeared to show that as the assault continued, at least three people in the lobby of a luxury apartment stood by and watched . One closed the door as the assailant walked away and left the woman on the ground, the video showed.

Early Tuesday, the Brodsky Organization, which manages the luxury apartments, said the company suspended the apartment building staff members who witnessed the attack and appeared not to come to the woman's aid.

The legal aid society will probably say both the cameras and the video they captured of the event prevent there client from getting a fair trial.
