Do---or do not.
There is no try.

If you can find the video on YouTube, Marion County, Florida Sheriff Billy Woods has just announced the capture of two of the three juvenile suspects in a horrific multiple murder.

The press conference is priceless. Woods, like Grady Judd and other Florida sheriffs, is a no-nonsense-blame-the-criminal-not-the-gun kind of person who tells it like it is and gives his people full credit for their hard work in solving cases.

Compared to many law enforcement agency heads in this country who point at gun control as the answer, these sheriffs get it.

One of them is twelve years old, and they might as well just lock up that little bastard for the rest of his life. The death penalty is off the table, of course, but this little thug motherfucker needs to be removed from society permanently.

The one still at large- "Tahj" Roll Eyes is sixteen years old, and the above applies to this little thug son of a bitch, too, as well as the big man of the crew, who is all of eighteen.

I can't even post what I would dearly love to see happen to all three.

This trash got their guns via car burglaries. Gun owners should be aware of this and act accordingly.

One of my closest friends in college was murdered by a 12 year old kid. Why? Mike and his room mate caught them breaking into cars in the apartment parking lot. Mike ended up with an 18" screwdriver in his temple.

And when they say "car burglaries", these scrotebags typically aren't smashing windows to get inside. They're merely going around pulling on dozens of door handles in a neighborhood/parking lot until they find some that are open. Around here they call it Car Hopping.

Unlocked vehicles with guns/keys left inside them are the primary source of both stolen guns and stolen cars.

I hear excuses all the time. Even if you "live in a good area" or you "have been leaving your doors unlocked for eleventy years and have never had anything stolen", you still need to Lock. Your. Damn. Doors.

It's not a guarantee that you won't still be victimized, since car door locks won't stop a determined car burglar, but it significantly lowers the probability because most of the car break-ins come from low-effort criminals (often juveniles) looking for the easiest targets.

Locked or unlocked- it doesn't matter. Locked cars get broken into every day. Don't leave firearms in your vehicle. That's the key.

Also why the concept of the “truck gun” (normally a cheaper, replaceable Glock/S&W etc) should be eradicated. Guns should be on your person, or placed in the vehicle for your use and removed every time.

Killed two girls no less. I can't imagine a place where kids grow up to killers at 12 years old.

Taking my gun with me isn't always an option, so it gets locked in an additional container inside my locked vehicle. Not overnight of course.

Agree ! A Seattle Police chief had his weapon stolen out of a parked unmarked police vehicle ... he went on to be Obama's Drug Czar.

Yep, a neighbors car was ransacked, they tried to get in my Truck, it was locked, cameras got them in the act, his was unlocked, nothing of value in the car just papers but still, we're well out of the city and they had a buddy driving slow as the crew worked parked cars.

Oh and speaking of Law Enforcement having guns stolen, one of our former leaders in Orange County Val Demmings, the lefts female half of the family dynasty of Demmings, left her county issued Sig in her duffle bag, in the car and it was stolen.

The gun used to kill Kate Steinle, the girl shot by a bum on the SF pier several years ago, was stolen from a car.
An FBI agent left it in his car, it was stolen and the illegal alien/bum claimed he just found it under a bench. He then picked it up and it "went off accidentally" killing this poor girl.
To add insult, he was found not guilty last June, sentenced him to time served and deported.
The judge ordered him to never come back, even though he had re-entered illegally several times before.
Hopefully the Florida courts will treat these scum a little differently. To bad the parents can't pick up some serious charges off this too.

I live in a nice neighborhood, but about once a quarter the riff raff come car hopping. Amazon quality cameras (i.e. zero chance of facial ID or reading license plate) typically record a car driving slow down the street and 2 door checkers on each side of the street (i.e. 4 door checkers total).

A year or so ago, on late night patrol they got 7 guns and a BMW from unlocked cars in my neighborhood. Yes, one rocket surgeon neighbor left the keys in the ignition in an unlocked late model BMW in his driveway.

She was Chief of Police when she left her service pistol in an unlocked car. As punishment, she got sent to Washington as Representative for Florida's Tenth Congressional District, which includes much of Orlando and the attractions area. She went on to lose an effort to unseat Senator Marco Rubio.

This is an interesting article. Saw this on the news as well.

https://www.wesh.com/article/f...ed-arrests/43538177#

<snip>
The sheriff also said it was a betrayal between a group of kids, which ended in murder.
<snip>

<snip>
"At some point these three individuals turned on our three victims and murdered them," Woods said.

Three victims, all young.

Layla Silvernail, 16, and a second 16-year-old girl were found shot in Silvernail's car, and a 17-year-old boy was found dumped on the side of a road near Ocklawaha.

"Nothing specific to say that it was any rivalry, or anything to suspect cause but each and every one of them was associated in some form or fashion with a gang," Woods said.
<snip>

This is a little vague so I'm not sure whether they are saying the murder suspects were part of gangs, or all involved in gangs. The TV news report I saw made it clear that they all knew each other.

So is this a case of...
1. The girls knew these guys were gang bangers and though they were cool, then became street cred.
2. The girls were part of the gang or hang-arounds for the gang
3. They were not gang affiliated but were helping them commit crimes because it was cool and were witnesses that needed to be eliminated.

Sounds like a LOT of bad decisions were involved here.
