They now qualify as a no-kill shelter, vastly different than several years ago. A lot of small donations adds up:

2020 was a challenging year but thanks to YOU, the animals in our community were still able to receive lifesaving care and a second chance.

Below you will see the impact of your support in 2020.

Our fabulous fosters cared for almost 800 animals while they received medical attention or were in need of 24-hour care until they could be adopted.

Our Culler Boarding, Grooming & Travel Center serviced over 1,000 animals...and did you know they now offer grooming services 7 days a week?

Our Veterinary Services Team performed close to 10,000 spay/neuter surgeries. Every surgery performed helps to reduce pet overpopulation in our community!

Your support has also allowed us to reach an incredible milestone.

The Halifax Humane Society officially qualifies as a no-kill shelter, with a live release rate of 92.91%.

That's 100% better than the ASPCA, which isn't a no-kill shelter....but they do like collecting donations.

Congratulations on your outstanding success and a worthwhile place for animals.
