Reportedly, the 25 year old driver was drunk and had a criminal driving record. There was a truck pulling a trailer at the off-ramp stop sign that had just made a right hand turn away from the 'flight' but would most likely have been impacted if he had turned left. The overpass is reported to be busy with a lot of traffic, including a lot of gravel trucks, but thankfully there was a gap in traffic at the moment he went airborne. Driver climbed out the back window of the wreck with nothing more than a gash on his head and was talking to those who stopped to help.
