Yep. Had the same issue during the last few major gas price hikes.

Shimmying under the car with a battery powered drill is way easier and less visible than siphoning the gas tank.

(And if they bring a sawzall too, they can also snatch the catalytic converter while they're down there.)

Posted this in the Bidet thread but felt it should be here also:

I was going to post the Colbert clip on he would pay $15 a gallon.....but he drives a Tesla...and he is an asshat. Here is a great post I saw on switching from gas to electric:

"These people want to get rid of gasoline powered cars and replace them with ones that run off the electric grid. To put that into perspective, cars currently use 8 million barrels of oil per day, in the US. That's the equivalent of 30 billion kWh of electrical power. We currently only produce about 11 billion kWh of electricity per day and of that, renewable energy only produces a little over 2 billion kWh. So the people who constantly tell us to "trust the science" apparently can't do basic math."

All gas (major or independent) has now topped $4. Diesel is over $4.50.

It's up another forty cents since Tuesday morning at the local Sunoco. The Speedway a little further down has gone up fifty cents a gallon in that time.

During the O'Bammy fuel price days, I seem to remember that fuel prices will lag at least 5-6 weeks behind changes in crude/bbl prices. And that was with a functional supply chain.

Rode by two stations side by side this morning and prices were very different. The Shell station was $4.19 for reg and the WaWa was $4.35 for reg. There were more people buying gas at the WaWa than there were at the Shell. Go figure..

A lot of people don't seem to care or pay attention to prices like we do. I got talking with a friend and was shocked to find out he never paid attention to what gas costs "it is what it is". Then we got talking about skyrocketing utility costs and he also had no idea how much he was paying for propane and electric, I'm like "WTF, how do you go through life like that?"

Also people want to run into Wawa for a hoagie or cup of coffee and these sucky gas stations like Shell don't do that stuff or very well.

Monday I was in town and most of the stations were at $3.99. Today the wife got home from shopping and said they were back down to $3.79. I had to run to O'reillys so I put four five gallon gas jugs in the back of the truck and filled them up. I don't usually do that until April but, hey, who knows where the prices will be in a month.

How the hell do prices drop 20 cents in three days?
