Fort Worth has Goldee's and Panther City

I haven't eaten at Goldee's barbecue - it is the recent favorite. Panther City is top notch 'cue. Highly recommended.

We’ll probably head down Thursday, arriving late. That will give us all day Friday to see what we decide to see.

A few years back, we went to the Clinton Presidential Library while in Little Rock for a GSSF match. While not a fan of the Clinton’s, it was still interesting. We may try to see the Bush Presidential Library, in addition to the JFK museum. On our way back to the hotel, probably take a quick detour through Waxahachie and make a stop by Meat Church… Wink

I second this recommendation. I go there every time I can when in the area.

This is a very good suggestion. If on limited time, or days, I’d go to Fort Worth. Stockyards.

Fort Worth Science and History Museum.

Botanical Gardens.

And if you have ever seen Logan’s Run, go to the water gardens. They were used in the film.

The great thing is these are all short distances from each other, more or less. IE, you don’t have to drive across the entire metroplex and all over the place. Dallas, IMO, is chalked.

Been 20 years since I was there, but there was a good gun show at the old abandoned Montgomery Ward's building in I think Mesquite. Kind of cool because it was different from the gun shows on the west coast. If the show happens to be going still when you are there it might be interesting.

And somehow I ended up eating a meal at Southfork Ranch, which is where the old television series "Dallas" was filmed. You know, who shot J.R. and all that drama Smile Not sure if that's even still there.

Mostly what I did in Dallas was eat. lots of good food there assuming that you eat meat. BBQ and Tex-Mex mostly.

That gun show at the old Mesquite mall is long gone. Of course there are others, but that was a long running gun show venue.

We went to the aquarium downtown and loved it. I will go back again the next time I visit.
