Has anybody used Apple's "Family Sharing" for iOS devices?

I looked at the explanation on Apple's website, but it's not clear to me: if this setting is enabled, and my wife and I are set as family members, does this mean that if one of us purchases an app, the other can use it at no extra cost?

How about apps that are paid subscriptions? One person pays, both can use it for the price of one?

Not sure about subscriptions but apps and music can be shared and downloaded to the devices in the family share. I also get to see and approve/deny apps and music download requests from my kids.

We use it. Apps, music, and movies can all be downloaded. It’s a weird way to download them, you go to the cloud family sharing section versus finding the app in the store. We don’t have any subscriptions, so I can’t verify that.

Have it, use it, works fine. If you buy a movie or app you only pay once. We have a Netflix account and get billed by Apple monthly for $9.99 and can access it on numerous devices. I think Apple caps it with 6 family members, we have 5.

I find it to be more of a pain.
Amazon did the same thing with family sharing of photos.

We just have one account for the App Store and use it for all the devices.

We do it a bit different. We have one AppleID account for the app store/music purchasesand then each phone has a second separate appleID for messages/facetime/icloud, etc. Works fine.
