MitchbSC http://duckduckgo.com for search.
Firefox, Safari, or Opera as mainstream browsers. There are others showing up in "best browser" searches like Vivaldi. Never used it though.
Stop using FB. That's probably your issue. FB is like a damn virus on phones and browsers.
They don't think it be like it is, but it do. April 22, 2018, 08:35 PM
C-DubsWithin the past week Chrome has really been bogging down on my Android.
It's a Galaxy S6, pretty old, so I don't know if it's the phone or the browser. Have dumped cache and cleared browsing history, yet it persists.
Switching over to Dolphin for now.

PatenI just use an ad blocker and never see any ads. I also delete my cookies every time I close my browser and never sign in to Google when doing searches.

cyanide357I've heard good things about the brave browser.
BraveAlternatively you could use firefox and install the extensions privacy badger (from EFF) and ublock origins.
Search engine wise, duckduckgo as other members have stated.

Scurvy+1 on Facebook being the culprit.

K0ZZZVivaldi is another new browser. Most are based on the same engine that's in Chrome, but with their own modifications to the gui, how they phone home, etc.

ensigmaticI'm using DuckDuckGo for a search engine, Firefox for most web browsing and Vivaldi in private mode for Facebook.
For Firefox and Vivaldi in normal mode I've advert blockers (uBlock Origin) and tracking blockers (Privacy Badger).
I see little-to-no adverts on FB reflective of my other browsing habits.
I use Safari on my mobile devices (iThings), but FB gets nothing there, either, because I use the FB app on those. (Which is relatively safe, because FB doesn't get the free reign on iOS it gets on Android.)
Firefox, on the desktop, at least, has profiles, you know. You can fire-up a separate profile for FB and that way FB can't see you've been with the browser under another profile. That's the theory, at least.
