Saudi Arabia-Led OPEC Cuts Oil Production after Biden Begged for More Login/Join

After Democrat President Joe Biden folded and went to Saudi Arabia in a desperate bid to drive down oil prices, OPEC and allied oil-producing countries have now announced they will cut oil production.

In July, Biden visited Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to beg for help in lowering gas prices after previously bashing the country’s leadership, as Slay News reported.

During the 2020 election campaign trail, Biden blasted Saudi Arabia as a “pariah state.”

However, during his Middle East trip to ask foreign nations for help solving his energy crisis, Biden folded in front of the world’s media to fist bump with Saudi leader MBS before they had a private meeting.

Now, in an embarrassing blow, the Saudis have just pulled the rug from under Biden by cutting oil production rather than increasing it.

“Biden just got clowned by OPEC,” Republican congressional candidate Robby Starbuck said on Twitter.

“He went to Saudi Arabia and begged for cuts to bring down the price of gas instead of unleashing oil production in the US. A few months later they turned around to work with Russia to cut oil output which raises the price of oil.

“Biden’s a failure.”

Election Wizard said: “52 days after President Biden traveled to Saudi Arabia, the kingdom has led OPEC+ into cutting oil production: quotas will be reduced by 100,000 barrels per day and further reductions remain on the table.”

il producers such as Saudi Arabia have resisted calls from U.S. President Joe Biden to pump more oil to lower gasoline prices and the burden on consumers.

OPEC+ has stuck with only cautious increases to make up for deep cuts made during the COVID-19 pandemic, which were finally restored in August.

Since then, growing worries about slumping future demand have helped send oil prices down from June peaks of over $120 per barrel, cutting into the windfall for OPEC+ countries’ coffers but proving a blessing for drivers in the U.S. as pump prices have eased.

The supply cut for October is only a small fraction of the 43.8 million barrels per day under OPEC+ production goals, but wrong-footed several market analysts’ predictions of no change in output.

The amount of oil per day “may seem negligible, but the message from today’s cut is clear: OPEC+ thinks they’ve fallen enough,” Columbia University energy policy expert Jason Bordoff tweeted.

Oil prices jumped after the announcement. U.S. crude rose 3.3%, to $89.79 per barrel, while international benchmark Brent was up 3.7%, to $96.50, after the decision.

Tens of Thousands Flood Streets of Prague to Protest Energy Crisis: ‘Europe on the Brink’

https://slaynews.com/news/tens...nergy-crisis-europe/

Tens of thousands of people flooded the streets of Prague over the weekend to protest against the Czech government’s handling of the energy crisis.

Over 70,000 protesters marched in the capital, demanding that the ruling coalition takes a neutral stance on the Ukraine war to ensure energy supplies from Russia aren’t cut off ahead of winter.

Protesters are outraged at the European Union for sanctions against Russia that have sparked soaring electricity bills and triggered a cost-of-living crisis.

“The aim of our demonstration is to demand change, mainly in solving the issue of energy prices, especially electricity and gas, which will destroy our economy this autumn,” event organizer Jiri Havel told local news iDNES, according to Reuters.

The protest was held at Wenceslas Square in the heart of the capital.

The uprising comes one day after the Czech government survived a no-confidence vote.

The opposition is accusing the government of inaction to protect citizens against inflation and energy hyperinflation.

The vote showed how Europe’s energy crisis is fuelling political instability as soaring power prices stoke inflation, already at levels unseen in three decades.

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala expressed displeasure at the protests and said the protesters did not have the country’s best interests at heart.

“The protest on Wenceslas Square was called by forces that are pro-Russian, are close to extreme positions, and are against the interests of the Czech Republic,” Fiala said.

Western sanctions are backfiring and some Europeans are awakening to how their governments sacrificed their livelihoods for NATO’s proxy fight against Russia in Ukraine.

What’s happening in Prague could spread like wildfire throughout the EU.

So maybe the protesters really are an extremist minority and maybe their concerns really are just ginned up nonsense? It's already September and we all keep waiting for the European stock market to tank. And waiting, and waiting, and waiting...

The Saudi's have been asking for help with Iranian backed rebels in Yemen. Biden said no, so the Saudi's returned the favor.

Too bad increasing domestic production wouldn't increase world supply and lower prices. Also no money from it would benefit US workers or companies. Not to mention Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Russia, and Iran all have tighter environmental standards and can produce oil with less impact to the environment.

A non brainwashed third grader could figure out Biden's energy policy is bad.

I would be worried about available natural gas supply and price. If you have wood burning capability, I would be stocking up on wood.

Don't worry, there's still time. The US markets are a 'House of Cards' as well... Wink

Them or us?

I heard in some pars of Europe there is no fire wood to be found and most country's frown on burning wood because it pollutes the environment.
Not sure if this is true or not.

Firewood is the most googled term in Germany. As are woodburning stoves.

Local communities in Germany are chopping down their forests to make ground up pellet wood fuel for their citizens.

There are some extremely efficient wood burning furnaces that are actually very attractive to look at that were popular 5-10 years ago. Not sure if momentum has changed that.

Y'all remember a few years ago when NG was burned off because it was cheaper than collecting? Just a few years and we went from top fossil fuels producer to part of global shortage.

For fucks sake let market forces drive eco shit. It's right around the corner with an advancement here and a discovery there. This artificial attempt to be green yesterday is counterproductive and dangerous. We mastered fire, then fusion, then space travel. You don't think with time we can't solve this shit? Give me a break. We will have super efficient, super fast charging, high torque/fun EVs available to everyone in 20 years. The effort to trim 5-10 years off that timeline comes with costs and effects that don't outweigh the benefits.

FJB does not understand how intertwined energy is.

His war on small energy companies/service companies also impairs OPEC’s ability to produce oil.

There are at least 50 years of oil reserves

another 50 years of natural gas reserves and over 100 years of coal reserves.

There is really a lot more than that but that is what is officially reported.

The prices are just artificially inflated.

If we really wanted to, we could flood the market with oil and gas and really screw the Saudis and the Russians.

The price is political not market driven.
