Had that happen, but the wasp came in the window & hit me in the side of the neck, which killed it.
Definitely stung from the impact, as the car was moving along at something >70mph.

On that airplane, probably not a lot. At slow speeds, it would certainly cause an asymmetrical stall, require extra rudder and aileron (and consequently likely a difference in a stall break unaccelerated, and a higher accelerated stall).

I've seen a lot of damage in wire strikes, inflight hail, etc, and an entire inboard leading edge on a Twin Otter that folded back to form a reverse curve airscoop above the wing, without a significant change or loss of control.

On the other hand, sometimes very minor changes can have significant effects. On a thick slow airfoil like that (in my experience), not a lot of control issue is likely to be had.

Good to know, worst I ever had happen as PIC was the cowl access on a C172 popped open a few seconds after takeoff. Bit of slowflight practice to keep it from ripping off during the circle back to land & resecure.

Lucky the front cowl damage didn't impede gear deployment.

My friend that chatted with them was told it did not want to fly. Lack of lift and drag due to the damage. They did have to cycle the gear 3 times before they got a green light. It belongs to a flight school down at BJC. I'm pretty sure the wings are coming off and it's going away on a trailer.

Yup, when it grows up it wants to have a radial engine!

Last I heard, he was in the ICU, but the outlook was beak.

What a downer, man.

Taxied to a maintenance facility for damage assessment. Other than feathers and bird shit all over, the only damage was a shattered nose wheel fairing (C-182).

So, that's where the phrase "feathering the prop" comes from?

I thought it meant something different.

Once the goose got involved, the whole thing went south.

That's rough....back in '89 we had a AU student pilot that clipped a deer doing some VFR night approaches at Moton Field in Tuskegee. Had to send the AP down to swap a prop and clean out the venison.....
