Helps if you grew up in the 60's and didn't just watch it but lived it.

Been watching episodes of the Andy Griffith show for the last week or so.... actually saw one with the original Floyd the barber on it.

And interesting observation: The first season of shows Andy was supposed to be the comic relief and kind of hickish. then it seems they figure out that Andy would be the straight man and Don Knox would be the comic factor.... this really made the show.

Was just talking with the wife about how I haven’t seen an imprinter in forever. The last couple of credit cards didn’t have the number on the front, raised or otherwise, it was just printed on the back. Everything changes...

Don't feel too bad. I have never watched Seinfeld, Cheers, Friends, or most any sitcom that seems to be ragingly popular at the time.

That would include my family. Whenever something around the office or my parents' house breaks, someone inevitably says "just call the man." My poor Midwestern husband doesn't share my family's love of TAGS. Smile

My 20 yo son knows Mayberry well, he has grown up with the show. Would he watch it on his own now? Perhaps not. But he used to laugh at Fife's ineptness.

Years ago, I met a 20 something gal who had no idea who Paul McCartney was.

In the earlier episodes, there were some iconic moments between Andy and Opie. The episode entitled Opie And The Spoiled Kid is akin to one of Aesop's Fables! I'd recommend any expecting parents to watch it and learn from it.
