What was the worst complaint about p in p ?

I've had good luck with LG TV's but would go elsewhere for pic in pic.

Question:
Do you have it ?
Use it?

Choices:
No pic in pic here
I have it but don't use it
I have it and use it all the time
I don't know what picture in pic is
Where is it we are supposed to introduce ourselves again ?

I honestly don't know if my Vizio "a little bit smart" TV supports PiP. I suppose the presence of this function on the remote might inform me, but this appears to have evaporated (I use the cable set top box remote).

Most TVs these days don't offer PIP. It's not a feature that most people want/use. If someone wants a "second screen" capability, it's typically via their smartphone.

Flat screens are so inexpensive now that folks are simply putting additional tv's in the space. One of my brothers basement looks like a vegas sportsbook with all the screens.

I remember when my father saw his first picture in picture TV back in the '80s. He came home, put our little black and white tv on top of our regular TV and was happier than a pig in crap watching football that weekend. He thought he was John Wayne, but most of the time he was Fred Sanford. Not a bad thing really.

I got out of selling TVs like 9 years ago. I can't think of a model with that capability then.

Yeah, I can't recall seeing a new TV model with PIP capability within the last ~15 years. Basically ever since flatscreen HDTV became a thing. But then, I haven't really been looking for it. (Like nearly all TV buyers...)

Are you saying that model has PIP? I don't see any indication on either Samsung's model page or Amazon's product page that indicates PIP.

Edit: Ah, I see. It's an unadvertised feature. It's buried in the manual. Also, it's only usable with broadcast TV, which a lot of people no longer have.

But that does indicate that PIP is still an option on modern TVs for folks like you that specifically want it. You likely will just have to dig a bit to figure out whether a TV model has it or not, because apparently even on the models that support it, they aren't touting it.

I only have broadcast TV.
The person I spoke with at Samsung tech support called it by another name.

Split screen maybe.

Same thing only different.

They sales people that I spoke with said that the cable and satellite providers offer p.i.p.

Our satellite provider does indeed offer PIP. We never use it.

Yeah, I have 2 TV's in my living room. The smaller screen just shows my security cams 90% of the time, but it's nice to see 2 channels now and again if there are 2 sporting events that I want to watch at the same time.

For those who have visited Graceland, you may recall that Elvis had 3 TV's side by side so he could monitor all 3 networks (ABC, CBS, NBC). If course Elvis needed some hot spares in case he ended up shooting the screen on one of them with his large revolver. Smile Smile
