Our daughter is an executive level officer for a national retail chain. She recently accepted a job as a regional HR director to further enhance her resume for a VP position. She told me these two stories, both connected to seasonal hiring for holiday shopping. The first involves a seasonal hire who called the police to report an “armed robbery.” The police arrived in force to find that no one at the store knew anything about a robbery, armed or otherwise. Ultimately, the person who called police was located and it was discovered that a customer came into the store openly carrying in a state where that is perfectly legal. The terminated employee was apparently so offended at seeing a person carrying a firearm that he falsely reported armed robbery. I don’t know if this case is resolved, but the employee has sued, in the amount of $25,000, for wrongful termination. I saved the best for last. A seasonal hire was working in the back area of a store, became upset about something, started screaming at co-workers, and threw a heavy piece of merchandise across the area at another employee. He was terminated. This person is also fighting the termination. I’m not kidding now. He said he “self-identifies” as a disabled veteran.. At this point my daughter didn’t know if he was a veteran at all, but apparently HE posted on some social media account about his situation, and HE used the phrase “self-identifies as a disabled veteran.” This is the world Joe and the Dems have bequeathed us. _______________________________________________________ despite them

Well thankfully we are seeing signs of that kind of crap being reversed. Hopefully the majority is tired of catering to the few.

I'm curious.... isn't claiming disabled veteran privileges when you were never in the military and not disabled in fact illegal? ^^^^^^ Not sure, but I'm pretty sure falsely reporting an armed robbery is.

I imagine. As I stated above, at this time my daughter hadn’t confirmed whether or not he was a veteran. _______________________________________________________ despite them

The big clue for me was here He said he “self-identifies” as a disabled veteran. I know quite a few disabled veterans, some combat disabled (a few were accidents). Not one of them uses 'self identifies' when they reveal their status. We had a militantly gay nurse working for us for a time. Real in-your-face kind of thing. His "husband" also worked here and would frequently come to the department where they'd very overtly say "I love you" when parting and even kissing...in front of patients and staff. Really inappropriate stuff, even for straight people. The day he interviewed and was hired, he came off as a reasonable guy who'd probably fit fairly well. His first day of work, he showed up wearing a dress. It was clear he was trying to get a rise out of us so that he could claim some type of discrimination. When he didn't get it, he began making shit up and really acting out. They ended up canning him and paid him a low six figure settlement just to get rid of him. Some of these nuts are very good at this stuff and bounce from place to place doing just this. Gone are the days when you could just let someone go who you didn't want working for you. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." I had a guy working for me in a retail establishment who we suspected was stealing from the cash register, but couldn't prove it. I did the books every night and could tell how much was missing, kept the owner informed, let the entire staff know we had a thief, but it wasn't until another employee actually spotted the thief in action that we fired him. His response was to come in the next day with his parents (the thief was in his early 30's, I think) and a fucking LAWYER!!! The lawyer threatened to sue the owner if he said anything about it to anybody, despite the eyewitness. My advice to the owner, and the advice of the witness, was to call the cops and file a report about the theft, but instead he decided to bide his time. A couple weeks later he got a call from another store in the same industry asking for a reference, and the owner said, "His lawyer threatened to sue me if I said anything about him." They replied, "That's all I need to know, thanks!" Last I heard a few months later was that the thief had moved out-of-state. The boss got his revenge and didn't have to get involved in a lawsuit. -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18

It will be interesting to see how the DEI industry (using the term loosely) morphs now that people are more willing (and able) to reject artificial forms of division and plain old bigotry, and hopefully return to meritocracy and traditional American values. I hope the days of getting fired or rejected for reasons having nothing to do with merit (or vaccination status and other stupid stuff) may come to a close. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Entertaining stories, but at the risk of sounding obtuse, what does the current administration have to do with ignorant people? Did the employees begin this behavior 3.85 years ago? Or is it the nature of the outlandish claims themselves you’re referring to? 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

It’s gotten worse to a while different outlandish level. Everything is a micro aggression these days. Everything is -ism abuse.

I think I read the main focus wrong the first time around, I see the focus on the stupid “excuses” yeah. HR, though I’ve never worked it, has to be one of the worst jobs. Is there ever a good time to be in HR? 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

Similar to the incidents of fake white hate crime. When there is no real anti-gay/trans discrimination, they have to make something up to stay relevant. A desperate appeal for attention. Pathetic.

The ignorance was always there, but "in the closet," in a manner of speaking. What they did do was create a climate for it to flourish in, e.g., trannies in high-profile positions, lighting up the White house in "rainbow" colors and flying the tranny flag from it, etc.

Had you ever heard the phrase “self-identifies as…” before this administration? I hadn’t. _______________________________________________________ despite them

This current administration hasn’t been helping, but it is not solely the administration. To me it seems like it started with Barry the wonder putz, that he has been highlighting and enhancing divisions and calling all the crazies out of their closets. It is as if he hollered, “Let your freak flag fly!” and the media and a loud minority of the dims has kept the drumbeat going. Hopefully, this election has made it clear that the majority is sick of the insanity and the din will die down.
