The truth is none of the above interest me much, although the World Cup is being played in North America. For me, it’s the “Greatest Show on Dirt,” the College World Series from Omaha. There are no teams in this year’s CWS that I have any allegiance to, but it’s entertaining baseball and I always enjoy it.This message has been edited. By your thread title, I had no idea this was about college baseball It has been a number of years, but my wife and I enjoy watching college baseball for a number of reasons- it is more fun, pure than MLB, which I stopped watching after the big strike in the mid 90s. IMO, playing the game means more to the kids, for most the last they will play competitive ball. Not every player is an example of the best, so some interesting and entertaining plays can appear out of nowhere. In the past I have watched the championship weekend games for the world series and always thought it would be fun to be at Omaha's Charles Schwab Stadium in person. I hear the parking lot parties are wild. Remedied the thread title, thanks. I’ve been to both the old Rosenblatt Stadium and Charles Schwab Stadium, most recently in 2012 when my alma mater, The University of Arizona, won the national championship. My seat for one of the games was located right in the middle of a bunch of fans from South Carolina, Arizona’s opponent in the championship series. They were terrific. I really enjoyed talking to them. Arizona won two straight to win the title, and the second game I hung out in the UofA team friends and family section. Great memory. _______________________________________________________ despite them

Couldn’t get any traction with this thread, but I know there are college baseball fans in the Forum. Deciding, winner-take-all game of the Oklahoma/North Carolina series—on right now! Let’s go-o-o! _______________________________________________________ despite them

I have no interest in soccer and I know some here hate sports in general. Especially pro sports. Man their has been some great sports lately. Enjoyed a bunch of it. Some great competition. This message has been edited. Last edited by: old rugged cross, "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Mildly regretting not going to see Messi and Argentina play in person today. Tickets would have been a grand so that takes some of the sting out of it. I did watch the game and Messi really looks loose and like he's having fun. Spent 15+ years living in Oklahoma, so I'm rooting for them tonight. Congrats to the OU Sooners, College World Series Champions! They came out of nowhere and got white hot when it mattered. "The left can't applaud me because their hands are in other people's pockets." - Javier Milei

13-2, quite a blowout. Kyle Branch was a monster. "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

I really only pay attention to hockey. Its a fast paced sport and I played it for years. I do like sports but I cant watch them mostly because of the downtime. That being said I can watch highlights for hours. I miss those days of ESPN when they would show great catches, amazing putts, etc. Let all Men know thee, but no man know thee thoroughly: Men freely ford that see the shallows.
